We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Office of Planning and Analysis:



Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Providing strategic leadership and overall management of the Office of Planning and Analysis, including developing work plans, budget, manpower and resources allocation;

  • Establishing and enhancing the University’s data governance frameworks and data collection systems across academic and administrative units to enable informed decision-making;

  • Leading the application of advanced analytics, big data techniques, predictive modelling, and dashboards to evaluate and perform analysis covering schools, programmes, teaching effectiveness;

  • Formulating evidence-based recommendations to drive continuous improvement in various areas including teaching, learning, ranking, research performance, etc.;

  • Ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely and comprehensive data to support internal governance and external reporting requirements;

  • Promoting data literacy across the University through training and consultation on data use, visualization and dashboard development; and

  • Performing any other duties as assigned.

  

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A recognised degree in a relevant discipline, preferably a higher degree;
  • Highly structured and analytical capabilities to deal with ambiguities and a proven track record in data analytics project management;
  • Solid experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities with broad vision and strategic foresight;
  • Work experience in the tertiary education sector is preferrable;
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills; and
  • A high level of competence in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

  

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, a composite cash/housing allowance, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
