Introduction:

The Digital Scholarship Centre (DSC) is technical support department of the Aga Khan University which produces all kinds of teaching & learning material, including teaching & training videos, video podcasts, orientation and promotional films. The unit also provides support in the live video transmissions. The DSC is comprised of some units such as video production unit, photography unit, graphic & multimedia designing unit, and equipment borrowing unit. This department also has a digital photography and video recording studio, and a proper audio recording studio.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Coordinator at the Digital Scholarship Centre.
Responsibilities:
- coordinate audio/video production and recording activities for the University
- record, edit, transcribe, and label audio/video materials
- maintain, download, and store digital video content from cameras and tapes
- digitize video and audio tapes into various digital formats and produce educational backup copies
- produce training materials, documentaries, and recordings of University and Hospital events
- arrange live transmission setups for University and Hospital programs
- provide audiovisual support and technical expertise at seminars, symposiums, and other events
- coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance with the Electronics Department
- set up and manage indoor and outdoor lighting for video production
undertake outdoor and outstation assignments, including work outside regular working hours.
Requirements:
- a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Media Sciences or a related field
- at least 5 years of relevant experience in video recording and production
- strong knowledge of film production, particularly training materials, documentaries, and event recordings
- proficiency in multimedia applications, including Adobe Suite and Sony software
- sound knowledge of indoor and outdoor lighting setups
- creative with a strong aesthetic eye for photo and video composition
- strong communication and public dealing skills
- ability to work effectively under pressure and outside regular working hours
- willingness to undertake outdoor and outstation assignments.
