Introduction:
The Department of Medicine at The Aga Khan University Hospital, comprises of independent sections of Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, and Pulmonary & Critical Care. The department has over 70+ full-time Faculty with a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education and research. Residency Programmes are offered in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Adult Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary Medicine, Nephrology and Dermatology, as well as Fellowship Programmes in Clinical Neurophysiology & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism, Interventional Cardiology and Infectious Diseases.
The Adult Gastroenterology training programme at Aga Khan University is one of the leading postgraduate training programmes in Pakistan with an exceptional track record of transforming trainees into efficient clinicians, scholars, and leaders in academic and community Gastroenterology. Accredited with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, the structured Gastroenterology training programme was launched on Nov 1, 1997, and since then our graduates are contributing tremendously to support the unmet need of health care systems in almost all major cities of Pakistan and various best international institutes as leading clinicians, researchers, and institutional leads in both academic and non-academic institutes. The Programme is designed to develop academically oriented Gastroenterologists who would serve as specialists in the area independently. The training is recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan (CPSP).

Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Program Director, you will be responsible for:
- conducting thorough assessments for both inpatient and outpatient cases
- accurately documenting findings in patient records
- formulating and implementing management plans with consultant
- providing expertise and support for managing complex cases
- reviewing patients under the guidance and supervision of consultants
- promptly evaluating and addressing gastroenterology consults
- developing and implementing management plans under faculty supervision
- effectively communicating with patients and staff
- playing a pivotal role in preparing for and assisting during endoscopic procedures
- documenting details of endoscopic procedures
- ensuring smooth transitions of patients’ post-endoscopy
- maintaining a physical presence during in-house calls
- supervising internal medicine residents and interns
- actively participating in academic activities related to gastroenterology.

- commitment spans inpatient care, outpatient services, consultations, endoscopy rotation, and active participation in academic activities.

Requirements:
You should have:
- MBBS from an institution recognized by PMDC
- one year of house job or internship
- FCPS Medicine or equivalent examinations or 3-year training in Gastroenterology and waiting for exams or 4 Years training in Internal Medicine and waiting for FCPS II exams.
