Position Details

Status: Contract
Contract End Date: March 2028

Responsibilities

  • Maintain documentation, reporting, and record keeping.
  • Implement an Emergent Curriculum.
  • Support children's emotional, physical, and behavioural well-being while helping to develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.
  • Maintain attendance records and complete health and safety checks.
  • Work collaboratively with professionals such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Early Interventionists as required.
  • Support children through transitions in and out of the classroom.
  • Meet all classroom ratios as outlined.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and professional development workshops.

Specifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems for documentation, reporting, and classroom operations.
  • Strong collaborator and team player.
  • Ability to take initiative both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 2 Certification required.
  • Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Valid Standard Child Care First Aid and CPR Level B certification.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 45 pounds.
