The Federal Work Study (FWS) program is intended to provide a meaningful job experience, with direct supervision, that complements and reinforces the recipient’s educational program and/or career goals.   Outcomes from the Federal Work Study program include:

• Working within a team environment

 POSITION:  Federal Work Study - Athletics

 DEPARTMENT:  Athletic Department

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist coaches and Athletic staff during USM events/games.
• Work the ticket gate and concession stand for events/games.
• Operate scoreboard and provide announcement on P.A. system.
• Assist with fan seating and intermission activities.
• Complete the Federal Work Study orientation.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

 REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study and enrolled full time at the University of Saint Mary
• Available to work evenings and weekends to cover athletic events.
• General knowledge, understanding and experience in athletic event procedures and sports statistics.
• Interest in working as part of the USM Athletics Department team.
• A team player with strong communication skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Computer skills or a willingness to learn
• Ability to appropriately handle confidential information
