Commercial & Residential Carpenter

Skillforce is hiring experienced Carpenters for ongoing interior work across the Richmond, VA area. We place carpenters into two types of roles depending on experience and preference: commercial interior finish work installing operable partitions and glass wall systems, or residential trim/finish carpentry on high-end remodels and renovations. Both are opportunities with a growing network of respected Richmond-area contractors.

Pay and Schedule:

• $25 to $30 per hour W-2, based on experience

• Weekly pay by direct deposit

• Monday to Friday, day shift start

• Overtime available as the job calls for it

• No nights or weekends on the standard schedule

Commercial Track Responsibilities:

• Install operable partitions and movable walls

• Mount overhead track to the building structure

• Hang and align panels and glass wall systems

• Set doors, frames, trim, and finish hardware

• Work off shop drawings to tight tolerances in modern, high-end office and commercial buildings

Residential Track Responsibilities:

• Install custom cabinetry, trim, and finish carpentry in residential remodels and historic renovations

• Fit and hang interior/exterior trim, doors, and millwork to precise tolerances

• Work alongside design/build teams on high-end custom home projects

Carpenter Qualifications:

• Commercial or residential carpentry background (either track welcome)

• Comfortable reading and building from plans or shop drawings

• Steady with overhead work and heavy panels (commercial) or fine finish detail work (residential)

• Must pass a motor vehicle records (MVR) check with a clean driving record — required to operate a company vehicle

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license required

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

• Partition, movable-wall, or cabinetry/trim experience is a plus
