Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) responsible for providing basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and medical providers. Duties include monitoring patient health, administering medications, assisting with daily living activities, and documenting care. Works as part of a healthcare team to support patient treatment plans, maintain a safe environment, and ensure quality care.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Missouri.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
Experience: New graduates are welcome to apply. Behavioral health orientation provided during training.
Preferred Experience/Skills: At least 3 months of behavioral health, pediatric, or inpatient nursing experience.
Requires Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook email.
Key Responsibilities
• Practice conduct that displays respect for all KVC colleagues and community stakeholders regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, or veteran status.
• Order medications
• Transcribe MAR's
• Assure accuracy of medication dosages and times
• Attend to minor injuries and determine need for medical attention
• Document and collect data on patients
• Schedule appointments, medical and psychiatric
• Complete dictation
• Check vital signs, heights, and weights of patients
• Collects specimens for labs per doctor’s orders
• Schedule tests for patients, transport patients, complete yearly re-licensing and review corrective actions
• Complete all SRS/KDHE investigations
• Assist physicians and staff as needed
Additional duties may be assigned based on organizational needs and staff qualifications.
Physical & Work Environment
This role involves a mix of standing, walking, and occasional lifting, along with regular use of office equipment. You’ll work in a professional office setting with moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
