Job Description:

The Auditor ensures product components production, assembly and packaging processes and finished product meets product specifications through use of Quality Standards, Prints, Specification, the use of Statistical Techniques, and Customer Requirements.

We are seeking a Quality Auditor on 2nd shift to join our team at our Smyrna TN facility! 

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday  

Shift: 2nd 3:00pm - 11:00pm

Hourly Range: $20.00 + $1.00 Shift Differential

Job Summary:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assure compliance to all required industry standards and government requirements as stated in the Ideal Tridon Quality Manual, Quality Management System, process documentation and all Company Human Resources, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines to ensure customer requirements are met
  • All Quality Auditors have the responsibility and authority to stop production processes that are not ensuring internal or customer requirements are being met
  • All Quality Auditors have the responsibility and authority to identify any product as defective and label accordingly per internal procedures
  • Maintain and protect all company, supplier, and customer proprietary and confidential information
  • Ensure compliance to the Quality Management System, Quality Policy, Environmental Management System and Environmental Policy
  • Maintain Audit Register 
  • Review Quality Alerts
  • Understand Travel Cards and Pack Op Sheets
  • Understand the process for containing and identifying nonconforming product
  • Relate and distribute the voice of the customer as it pertains to quality issues
  • May provide quality direction to employees being audited
  • Visually and dimensionally check components and finished assemblies against control plan and customer specific requirements. Examples include: visually audit product for correct band stamp, correct housing stamp and correct screw
  • Audit cartons for correct weight, carton quantity, item quantity and labeling information
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area
  • When necessary perform other typical duties as required

Required Skills & Abilities:            

  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience
  • Background in reading blue prints and using calipers and gages is required
  • Required hands-on knowledge and experience in quality auditing product in a manufacturing function or similar manufacturing experience
  • Able to use hand tools, measurement equipment and gages to accomplish audits
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SQC Pack)

 Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Required hands-on knowledge and experience in quality auditing products in a manufacturing function or similar manufacturing experience. 
  • Background in reading blueprints and using calipers and gages is required.

 Physical Requirements:

Will sit, stand, bend, and stoop for continuous periods of time. Will walk frequently and use both hands and arms to occasionally lift weight up to 40 pounds is required. Perform in a sitting position while keypunching. Adequate vision to read and understand written instructions and prints is required. Maintain regular attendance and overtime requirements. Understand both verbal and written instructions in English.
