About the Role

Introductory marketing language

Help shape client outcomes by leading complex custody account onboarding and change activity for Japanese institutional clients. You will coordinate end-to-end execution across coverage, client service, implementation partners, and market stakeholders to deliver reliable, timely results. This role suits a leader who is energized by shifting priorities, structured problem-solving, and strong operational discipline. You will bring transparency through clear reporting and thoughtful escalation, while continuously improving how work gets done.

Job summary

As a Client Account Services Vice President in Client Account Services, you will lead the governance and delivery of custody account openings and related documentation, ensuring high-quality execution and strong risk management for Japanese institutional clients. You will translate business needs into clear delivery plans, manage dependencies, and drive progress across multiple partner teams. You will also provide visibility to senior stakeholders through performance and risk reporting, and help strengthen controls and processes through continuous improvement.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution and governance of custody account openings and related market documentation for Japanese institutional clients
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, providing timely and well-reasoned updates grounded in operational judgment
  • Coordinate delivery across relationship coverage, client service, implementation partners, transitions support, and local market stakeholders to meet agreed timelines and service commitments
  • Manage complex issues by identifying root causes, assessing risk, escalating appropriately, and driving resolution with clear ownership and communication
  • Maintain high standards of static data quality and documentation accuracy through effective controls and process discipline
  • Update and improve operating procedures, communicating changes clearly and promoting consistent adoption across stakeholders
  • Plan and deliver initiatives driven by regulatory, product, or business change, managing milestones, dependencies, and outcomes
  • Produce and present performance and risk reporting with thematic insights for senior stakeholders, identifying trends and proposing improvements
  • Coach and support team capability building through training, knowledge sharing, and best-practice guidance (as applicable)

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in securities services, asset management operations, or related financial services
  • Fluency in Japanese and English with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to balance client needs with operational risk awareness and control requirements when making decisions
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating service delivery across multiple stakeholders and workstreams
  • Strong understanding of operational risk concepts, controls, and governance practices
  • Ability to organize complex work, manage dependencies, and deliver to committed timelines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, including structured documentation and reporting
  • Client-focused mindset with a commitment to high service quality and continuous improvement

  • Global custody experience supporting institutional clients
  • Demonstrated leadership and accountability, including influencing without direct authority
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving approach
  • Experience driving process improvement and standardization in an operations environment
