About the Role

WHAT WE DO

United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County unites the community to identify and solve our most critical issues. We are dedicated to improving people's lives and creating community-level change. Our work includes leading cross-sector collaborations, advocating for public policy changes and investing in programs that prevent problems from happening in the first place for those in need. Our strategy for improving quality of life and advancing the greater good involves focusing in four impact areas: 1.) Ready Children - preparing children for kindergarten; 2.) Successful Students - empowering students to graduate and reach their full potential; 3.) Strong Individuals and Families - helping individuals and families become self-sufficient 4.) ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in Information Technology, business systems, data analytics, and end-user support within a collaborative nonprofit environment. The IT Intern will gain exposure to real-world technology projects, enterprise applications, data reporting, process improvement initiatives, and help desk operations while working alongside experienced IT professionals.

This is an excellent opportunity for students and aspiring technology professionals seeking practical experience in systems administration, data analytics, CRM management, automation, and technical support


WHAT YOU WILL LEARN & EXPERIENCE

  • As an Donor Services Intern, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Gain hands-on experience with enterprise technology platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Power BI, Power Automate, and Microsoft 365.
  • Develop troubleshooting, customer service, and problem-solving skills through end-user support.
  • Learn how data is collected, analyzed, reported, and used to support business decision-making.
  • Build process improvement and documentation skills through workflow mapping and technology optimization projects.
  • Collaborate with professionals across multiple departments, gaining valuable exposure to nonprofit operations and business processes.
  • Strengthen project management, communication, and analytical skills while contributing to meaningful initiatives.


CRM, Data Analytics & Business Systems Experience

The Data Services Intern will work with modern business applications and gain exposure to:

  • Data entry, analysis and reporting to support organizational decision-making.
  • Business process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Process mapping and workflow development using flowcharts and other business analysis tools.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through technology solutions.
  • Microsoft Power BI reporting and data visualization.
  • Microsoft Power Automate workflow creation and process automation.

  • Interest in data analytics, business intelligence, automation, or donor relationships.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts in a professional environment.
