We are an outdoor retail and experiences company, focused on providing unique experiences across our locations in Canada, US, and Japan. For over 20 years we have operated evo.com. We take skiers, snowboarders and mountain bikers to iconic destinations around the world via evoTrip, our group and private travel business. In addition to lodging at The Journeyman Lodge in Whistler, adventure-minded travelers can stay with us at evo Hotel in Salt Lake. We will open evo Hotel Tahoe City in Winter 2024/2025, and evo Hotel Hakuba in Winter 2024. At the heart of everything we do is our mission to leave a positive impact on communities, by bringing financial and volunteer support to non-profit organizations dedicated to getting underserved kids outdoors. To support this work we have two skateparks, All Together Skate Park Salt Lake, and All Together Skatepark Seattle, where kids lives are positively impacted by the love of skateboarding.

The Job

As Retail Associates, our team members play a crucial role in creating exceptional experiences for our customers. They warmly greet and assist customers, provide product recommendations, and maintain a clean and organized space. Our Retail Associates operate cash registers, handle will-call orders, and manage customer waitlists efficiently. They also contribute to store opening and closing tasks, ensuring that the shopping environment is welcoming and well-maintained. With a focus on positive customer interactions, this role essential in delivering outstanding service and representing evo. 

 

Pay: $21.30-$22.24 

Duration: Mid October - Mid February (with the possibility to extend) 


Scheduling Requirements: 

  • This is a seasonal position with weekend and holiday scheduling requirements. 
  • Weekend availability is required, as well as the ability to work during peak holiday periods including Black Friday (the day after US Thanksgiving) and the weeks leading up to and following Christmas. 
  • Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The Opportunity

  • Create positive and memorable customer interactions, in some cases, giving lessons in product use. 
  • Warmly greet customers, provide prompt assistance, and offer product recommendations. 
  • Keep all customer facing environments clean, organized, and visually appealing. 
  • Operate cash registers and process customer payments. 
  • Efficiently handle will-call orders. 
  • Manage customer waitlists and communicate estimated wait times. 
  • Execute store operations tasks including, but not limited to; inventory receiving and processing, ship from store and product restocking, 
  • Learn and develop technical product knowledge and expertise.  
  • Educate customers about technical elements of our product, ask strategic questions and support customers in getting the best product for their upcoming adventure. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

The Must Haves

  • Previous experience in the retail industry is a plus, but not mandatory. 
  • Willingness to learn about the products and services offered. 
  • Adaptability, attention to detail, cash handling, communication, conflict resolution, customer service, inventory management multitasking, product knowledge, teamwork

The Nice to Haves

  • Experience with Point of Sales System preferred.

The base wage for this role ranges from $21.30 to $22.24. Where you land in that range depends on your skills and experience, and we also factor in internal pay equity. While the full range is listed for this role, we rarely hire at the top of the range, leaving room for professional and financial growth in role.
