About The Company
QSSI was founded in 1985, and has been manufacturing custom die cast parts and components in China since that time. We began manufacturing complete lighting fixtures in 1992 to supply to the OEM markets in the USA and Canada, and have since expanded to worldwide distribution. We have three manufacturing facilities in China and Taiwan, all of which are 100% owned by QSSI and all are registered as 100% foreign owned enterprises. In addition QSSI has 6 USA stocking and assembly locations, as well as one in the UK. There are no joint ventures or outside investors. We own our own tooling for our existing product line, and we are also custom designers and manufacturers for our OEM customers. In addition, we own our U.L., CE, GS and TUV files used for the International market and all of our products comply with these strict standards. Role Overview

As a BOM/Router Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our production process. Your expertise in creating detailed documentation will make sure the operations flow smoothly. You will be responsible for developing Bills of Materials and Routers, leveraging your ability to interpret complex instructions and diagrams. We value team players who excel in cross-functional collaboration and are committed to enhancing accuracy in pricing, inventory, purchasing, and product fulfillment.

 
 

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain accurate bills of materials (BOM) for all products and assemblies.

· Coordinate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure BOM accuracy and completeness.

· Update BOMs based on engineering changes, product revisions, and feedback from production.

· Analyze BOMs to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve production efficiency.

· Create and manage work orders for manufacturing and assembly processes.

· Ensure routers are completed accurately and on schedule.

· Collaborate with inventory management to ensure materials availability aligns with production schedules.

· Maintain documentation related to BOMs and routers in the company’s ERP system.

· Conduct regular audits of BOMs and routers to ensure compliance with company standards.

· Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to BOM discrepancies and work order execution.

· Provide training and support to team members on BOM and router processes.

· Generate reports on BOM accuracy, router completion, and material usage for management review.

· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance BOM and router processes.


Work Hours & Benefits Offered

· Full-time position, working Monday–Friday, 1st shift, hours are either 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a thirty (30) minute uninterrupted lunch break.

Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field.

- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within manufacturing or engineering environments.

- Proficiency in ERP systems, Sage Operations Management a plus.

- Strong understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and lifecycle management.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Experience with change management processes.

- Familiarity with inventory management and production planning.

- Strong organizational and documentation skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
