Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Meteorology Specialist to provide expert meteorological analysis, forecasting, and weather-related risk assessments in support of environmental, infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing meteorological data, evaluating extreme weather events, developing weather intelligence products, and delivering actionable insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret meteorological, atmospheric, and climatological data from a variety of sources, including weather stations, radar systems, satellite imagery, and numerical weather prediction models.
  • Conduct detailed assessments of extreme weather events, including tropical cyclones, typhoons, severe thunderstorms, flooding, droughts, heatwaves, cold waves, and other hazardous weather conditions.
  • Develop and provide short-term, medium-term, and long-term weather forecasts and climate analyses.
  • Monitor regional and global weather patterns and identify potential risks that may impact operations, projects, and communities.
  • Evaluate historical weather and climate datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and potential future impacts.
  • Prepare meteorological studies, technical reports, weather risk assessments, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Support environmental impact assessments, climate resilience studies, and disaster risk reduction initiatives.
  • Utilize meteorological models, forecasting systems, GIS tools, and data visualization platforms to support analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate meteorological considerations into project planning and operational strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, meteorological guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed of advancements in meteorological science, forecasting techniques, and climate research.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Climate Science, Environmental Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in meteorological data analysis and extreme weather analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in weather forecasting, atmospheric monitoring, and interpretation of meteorological data.
  • Strong knowledge of severe weather systems and their potential environmental, operational, and societal impacts.
  • Experience working with weather forecasting models, radar data, satellite imagery, and climate datasets.
  • Proficiency in meteorological analysis and data management tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent technical report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Climate Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certification from a recognized meteorological organization.
  • Experience supporting environmental impact assessments, climate adaptation studies, disaster risk management, or resilience planning.
  • Experience using GIS, Python, R, MATLAB, or other analytical and visualization tools.
