Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices within the automotive retail industry. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, analyzing financial data and supporting the overall financial health of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Perform detailed account reconciliations and journal entries.

Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and analysis to management.

Assist in the management of Inventory/ Floorplan.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and accounting standards.

Collaborate with the finance team to support audits and tax preparation.

Monitor and report on key financial metrics, identifying trends and variances.

Support cash management activities and maintain accurate records of transactions.

Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the automotive retail industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and  as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • CPA or progress towards certification is a plus.
