Position Details
· Position: Part-Time
· Schedule: Monday-Friday | Flexible Scheduling
· Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour, based on qualifications
Position Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Personal Trainer to join our team! In this role, you will work 1-on-1 with members to support their health and wellness goals while creating a positive, safe, and engaging environment. You will play a key role in building relationships, encouraging participation, and delivering high-quality fitness experiences aligned with YMCA values.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work 1-on-1 with clients to create personalized fitness plans
- Lead safe, effective 30–60 minute training sessions
- Teach proper form, technique, and injury prevention
- Track client progress and keep sessions engaging and results-driven
- Perform basic fitness assessments
- Build relationships and help grow personal training participation
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (required prior to employment)
- Nationally recognized Personal Training certification (ACE, NASM, NSCA, AFAA, NETA, etc.) required prior to hire
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with individuals of all fitness levels (beginner to advanced)
- Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule (weekday availability required)
- Completion of required internal trainings within designated timeframes
Physical Demands
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
- Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds in weight.
- Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
- Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
