Job Summary:

 Responsible for helping to build facility maintenance programs and maintaining plant/facility equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation in support of the production and distribution teams. Independently performs routine and moderately complex maintenance tasks with general supervision, while continuing to develop more advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Works to support the Production and Quality Teams to increase safety, quality, up-time, and efficiency.  


  • Location: This job is on site at our facility in Hinesburg, VT
  • Schedule: Mon - Fri  5:00 AM - 1:30 PM 
  • Pay Rate: Staring from $29.34


Major Job Responsibilities:

  • General and specific responsibilities for Food Safety and Quality Systems and Programs; hold non-conforming product and equipment; follow QMS standards, policies and procedures. 
  • Diagnose causes of common electrical and mechanical malfunctions and equipment failures; repair and replace defective components with minimal supervision. 
  • Troubleshoot basic to moderately complex electrical systems. 
  • Support and help sustain the equipment maintenance program including predictive, autonomous, preventative and emergency work procedures and protocols. 
  • Assist with vendor coordination on new and existing equipment, including standard work documentation and parts ordering. 
  • Drive adherence to and awareness of safety standards in all processes and practices. 
  • Ensure the Food Safety and Quality standards are consistently maintained. 
  • Support the production teams to continuously improve production up-time, efficiency, and process effectiveness. 
  • Provide technical coverage in the absence of Maintenance Technician I staff. 
  • Follow QMS standards, policies, and procedures. 
  • All other duties as assigned and directed. 

 

Job Requirements: 

  • Technical college coursework or certificate in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience. 
  • 1-3 years of maintenance experience, ideally including food manufacturing. 
  • Growing familiarity with HACCP systems and autonomous maintenance programs preferred. 
  • Technical skills: 
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and basic chemical systems and their application 
  • Skill with tools, routine equipment maintenance, and parts sourcing 
  • Developing ability to troubleshoot refrigeration systems 
  • Ability to perform minor electrical maintenance (e.g., replacement/repair of fixtures) 
  • Ability to perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., repair leak, clogs) 
  • Ability to perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work 
  • Growing ability to use CMMS, parts manuals and/or software, with basic familiarity with schematics, diagrams, and blueprints 
  • Competencies: 
  • Developing understanding of Lean and other process engineering and maintenance management disciplines 
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Solid process management skills

  • Regularly required to visually observe objects up close and at a distance
  • Regularly requires hands to handle or feel and finger dexterity
  • Ability to work in 38° Fahrenheit temperature and wet environment
  • Ability to withstand noisy environment
  • Operation of production equipment, tools, and controls

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing plant 
  • English is the primary language; training materials are written in English. For individuals who do not speak English as their primary language, translation will be provided.
