Warehouse/Yard Driver

Description

Guardian’s rapid expansion requires an experienced Warehouse/Yard Driver to support the daily operations of our Warehouse and Yard. This position is based in Auburn, WA and will be responsible for commuting to and from job sites, vendors and dump areas as instructed by the Warehouse and Yard Manager. We are seeking a reliable, team-oriented individual with a proven track record of stellar work quality and customer service. The Yard Driver works closely with Production Managers to support the efficiency of the production department’s daily operations. To be successful in this role, you should display excellent attention to detail, safety oriented and enjoy high levels of physical activity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Approach the job daily with a safety-first mentality while always operating truck/trailer safely and lawfully
• Moves trucks and trailers for receiving when needed
• Moves trucks and trailers as needed to complete the loading process
• Arranges trucks and trailers on the yard in an orderly and efficient manner
• Deliver and pick up debris trailers, portable toilets, and returnable materials as directed by management from job sites in varying locations around Guardian’s service area
• Make frequent drops at area dumps
• Ability to make determinations of recyclable, versus non-recyclable materials to ensure proper disposal of job site waste
• Safe operation of equipment provided to safely haul loads (for example, forklift, dock plates or load bars and straps)
• Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible
• Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business
• Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public
• Warehouse duties including receiving, sorting, and picking material

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• 3+ years of experience in a driving role
• Forklift Experience a plus
• OSHA 10 and First Aid Certification is a plus
• Knowledge of roofing materials or experience in construction field highly preferred
• Ability to manage high volume workload with competing and changing priorities
• Must be comfortable towing trailers and maneuvering 
• Intermediate level of computer proficiency
• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. at times
• Must be able to drive up to 100 miles per day
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time

LOCATION AND SHIFT

• You will be expected to report daily to Guardian's headquarters in Auburn, WA
• Monday - Friday. Weekend availability as needed highly preferred
• 7:00am - 3:30pm, plus overtime
