About the Role

 

TITLE: Youth &Livelihood Coordinator- EAMR Project

CONTRACT LENGTH.

Till 31 Dec 2026 possibility of contract renewal .

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting the country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

This EAMR  project aims that children and youth in vulnerable situations have their rights respected and possess sound self-reliance capacities that allow them to improve their life perspectives. It will also target national and community organizations to enable them to provide effective protection and self-reliance services for children and youth. The project is targeting children and youth up to 24 years from the refugees, migrants and host communities at Ain Shams and surrounding areas.

ROLE PURPOSE:

·        The Youth and Livelihood Coordinator will be supporting the Senior Youth and livelihood Officer in the implementation of the young people activities for youth refugees, Migrant and host communities living in East Cairo areas

·        The post holder will provide technical support and leadership to the youth community mentors including training through remote and office modalities.

·        The position holder will provide technical support and leadership to the Youth Community Mentors including remote and in-office training. The position holder will also be responsible for regular monitoring of implementation. He/she will play a key role in leading the Youth Mentors to achieve the project objectives with the agreed quality including the entire process of beneficiary selection, preparation and delivery of basic trainings, business club Sessions, Digital lab, and The Youth Campaigns  .. etc.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

 

Reports to: Senior Youth and Livelihoods Officer.

Staff reporting to this post:

Direct (Solid):  2   Volunteers.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Project Implementation

 

·        Support the Senior Youth and Livelihood Officer in planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring project activities in line with approved work plans, project objectives, budgets, and organizational standards.

 

·        Support the implementation of the project's three core components:

1.      Digital Lab: Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Digital Lab, support the implementation of its annual activity plan, promote its services, and ensure the effective delivery of training and digital learning activities.

2.      Youth Campaigns: Support the planning and coordination of youth-led community campaigns, facilitate capacity-building activities using the SHIFT methodology, and monitor the implementation of campaign activities.

3.      Business Club: Support the coordination and implementation of Business Club activities for young entrepreneurs, including workshops, networking events, market linkage activities, and follow-up with participants.

4.       

·        Support beneficiary outreach, registration, screening, selection, and participation processes, ensuring compliance with project criteria and procedures.

·        Provide the coordination and technical support to youth facilitators to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of project activities.

·        Support the Senior Youth and Livelihood Officer in developing and updating implementation schedules, and preparing the procurement plans, and activity trackers, and follow up on their execution with relevant departments.

·        Maintain accurate beneficiary databases, attendance records, activity trackers, monitoring tools, and project documentation, ensuring that information is complete and up to date.

·        Support the organization of capacity-building activities for youth facilitators to strengthen the quality of project implementation.

 

·        Ensure that the activities are implemented respecting the child safeguarding policies of SC..

 

Reporting and documentation

·        Compile monthly reports reflecting the progress in the project implementation, assist the team to highlight success cases and document challenges encountered during the implementation of activities.

·        Work with the project participants and team members to monitor, document and convey information and success stories.

·        Contribute in the development/updating of the project data base, monitoring system, and carry out activities according to the agreed upon indicators on a regular basis.

 

Partnerships/Networks

·        Develop positive close working relationships with field staff and other SCI services such as MEAL, communication and finance.

·        Assist in creating networking events to increase benefits for beneficiaries to widen their access to different stakeholders.

·        Develop effective partnerships and networks with the goal to create platform by which adults and youth participate to discuss mitigation options for youth.

 

In case of Emergency:

·        Promote children's rights, contributing to their well-being and protection in times of emergencies, guided by humanitarian principles and code of conduct.

·        During emergencies, he/she should act in a way that facilitates SCI’s response to emergencies, giving priority to all assigned.

·        Be prepared to support SCI interventions in response to emergencies and show needed flexibility

 

General:

·        Demonstrate good examples in relation to Save the Children policies and practices with respect to safeguarding, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities, and other relevant policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

·        Minimum of 3 years’ experience in youth and Livelihood program interventions and implementation with reputable humanitarian NGOs operating in Egypt; Preferably East Cairo areas.

·        A bachelor’s degree in the development field or any other related field is required.

·        Experience working with different nationalities, especially in the context of refugees and migrants.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

·        EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

·        •   Experience in conducting trainings and working with refugee/migrants marginalized communities is a must.

·        •   Experience in facilitating platform of dialogues between different stakeholders.

·        •   Experience in establishing and support networks to collaborate, identify, plan and youth lead Campaigns.

·        •   Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.

·        •   Experience in administrative work.

·        •   Ability to create networks and positive collaborations with different stakeholders to benefit the beneficiaries.

·        •   Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) and strong working knowledge of English is required.

·        •   Commitment to Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding.

·        •   Commitment to gender equality and inclusion of marginalized groups.

·        •   Experience in documentation and report writing.

·        •   Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and able to take decisions independently in fluid context.
