About the Role
 JOB TITLE: Child Protection Caseworker-RDPP Project 
 TEAM/PROGRAMME:  Refugees and Migrants / Child Protection ProgramLOCATION:  Giza and Cairo Governorates 
 GRADE: 6

CONTRACT DURATION: Until December 2026 upon the availability of fund.

 

 
 Child Safeguarding: Level 3:  the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; ore because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

In Egypt, Save the Children International has been working to ensure that children’s rights are respected, protected and promoted since 1982. We carry out both long-term development work and, more recently emergency humanitarian work. This project aims to extend support to unaccompanied and separated refugee, asylum seeker or migrant children living in Giza and Cairo governorates through comprehensive child protection, education, livelihood and mental health and psychosocial support interventions.

 

 
 

ROLE PURPOSE:

This position will be primarily responsible for conducting individual case management for unaccompanied and separated children.

 
 

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Case Management Coordinator (Case Management)

Staff directly reporting to this post: None

 
 

Responsibilities

·      Conducting best interest assessment interviews and draft relevant reports to assess the children’s needs.

·      Drafting referrals to and coordinating with partner organizations.

·      Providing full case management support to individual children.

·      Develop monthly reports on her/his caseload.

·      Counselling of applicants on the assessment procedures and services provided.

·      Development and implementation of detailed care plans.

·      Ensure that activities are implemented in a full respect to the child safeguarding polices of SCI.

·      Accompanying children when necessary to external appointments with service providers.

·      Updating records and preparing periodic reports on caseload.

·      Following up and monitoring on individual cases.

·      Supporting the program teams as necessary.

·      Ensuring Case Management is implemented in-line with Save the Children’s policies and procedures and adhere to donor requirements and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

Education:

 

1-Psychology, Sociology, Development, Political Science, related studies or relevant work

experience.

2-1 to 2 years of experience in the development/humanitarian field with a focus on child protection.

3- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

4-Demonstrated ability to work with highly vulnerable groups with good drafting skills.

5-Awareness about the security context and political situation in Egypt for refugees.

 

Language:

·      Proficiency in Arabic and English, written and spoke is a must.
