Claims Handler

Behind every claim is a person having a stressful week. The best claims handlers never forget that, and never let the paperwork slip either.
Job Overview
Our UK-based client is hiring a Claims Handler to manage claims from first notification through to settlement. This is a full-time, fully remote position for a South African professional who combines empathy on the phone with precision on the file. You will own a caseload end-to-end, keeping every claim moving and every customer informed.
About Our Client
Our client is a respected UK business operating in the insurance sector, known for treating customers fairly when it matters most. Their volumes are growing and they want handlers who protect both the customer experience and the accuracy of every decision. You will receive thorough training on their systems, products and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Register new claims promptly and gather the information needed to assess them properly
- Manage a caseload end-to-end, progressing each claim daily and preventing backlogs
- Communicate with customers, suppliers and third parties clearly and professionally
- Assess claims against policy terms, escalating complex or suspicious cases appropriately
- Keep records complete and compliant, with every decision documented and defensible
- Meet service standards for response times, accuracy and customer satisfaction
What You Will Be Doing Day-to-Day
Your day is a steady rhythm of casework: reviewing new notifications, requesting documents, updating customers before they need to ask, and moving claims toward fair, timely outcomes. You will make judgement calls within clear guidelines, ask for help early on the tricky ones, and take real care with the details, because in claims the details are the job. Regular team check-ins keep you supported and never working in isolation.

- 2+ years' experience in claims handling, insurance administration or a similar regulated environment

- Strong attention to detail with accurate, compliant record-keeping
- Sound judgement, discretion and the ability to manage a busy caseload without dropping threads
