Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an accomplished Health & Benefits Sales Professional for a hybrid opportunity in Washington, DC. This is a business-development-focused role for an experienced employee benefits sales professional with demonstrated success hunting for new business, building strategic territories, engaging C-suite decision-makers, and selling sophisticated Health & Benefits solutions to mid-market employers.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Health & Benefits Sales Professional will leverage deep knowledge of employee benefits and Health & Benefits consulting to develop innovative sales strategies addressing critical employer challenges related to employee benefits, healthcare, financial security, and workforce needs.

This position requires a true sales hunter who can identify opportunities, develop new relationships, manage complex sales cycles, build a substantial book of business, and convert prospects into long-term client relationships. The successful candidate will have direct experience selling within the approximately 1,000–5,000 employee benefit market and the ability to gain access to senior and C-suite executives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute strategic territory and business-development plans
• Prospect aggressively for new Health & Benefits business and identify high-value opportunities
• Maintain and grow a substantial book of complex or high-yield accounts
• Conduct frequent prospecting calls, sales presentations, meetings, and executive-level discussions
• Apply strong market knowledge and Health & Benefits expertise during cold outreach to generate interest and secure prospect meetings
• Build relationships with C-suite executives and other senior organizational decision-makers
• Create sophisticated sales proposals, presentations, and RFP responses addressing complex prospect needs
• Clearly communicate the business value of Health & Benefits consulting services and solutions
• Lead complex sales processes from initial prospect identification through final close
• Lead pricing negotiations and facilitate product, service, and expectation discussions
• Drive opportunities toward successful financial outcomes and new-client acquisition
• Research relevant industries and markets to identify new relationships, target accounts, and areas for expansion
• Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and deepen market penetration
• Maintain strong relationships with prospects and established client stakeholders
• Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities across available services and solutions
• Participate in professional, industry, and regional organizations
• Attend conferences and industry events to expand professional networks and identify new business opportunities
• Consistently achieve individual sales and production goals

• Full-Time
• Hybrid – 3 Days Per Week Onsite / 2 Days Remote

Requirements

• BA/BS Degree REQUIRED
• Minimum 5 Years of Relevant Health & Benefits / Employee Benefits Sales Experience REQUIRED
• Experience Selling Employee Benefits or Health & Benefits Solutions to Companies with Approximately 1,000–5,000 Employees REQUIRED
• Experiential Knowledge of the Employee Benefits or Health & Benefits Consulting Industry and Products REQUIRED
• Demonstrated Track Record of Achieving Sales Goals REQUIRED
• Strong New-Business Development / Hunting Experience REQUIRED
• Experience Building and Executing Strategic Territory Plans REQUIRED
• Experience Managing Complex Sales Cycles from Prospect Identification Through Close REQUIRED
• Experience Conducting Pricing Negotiations and Closing New Business REQUIRED
• Strong Network and Demonstrated Ability to Gain Access to C-Suite Executives REQUIRED
• Experience Developing Sales Proposals, Presentations, and RFP Responses REQUIRED
• Ability to Quantify Personal Sales, Production, and Book-of-Business Results REQUIRED
• Ability to Work Hybrid with 3 Days Per Week Onsite REQUIRED
• Life and Health License Preferred
