About the Role
Your Role with Us

The Events Management Specialist plays a key role in creating high-quality events that bring people together and strengthen connections with advisers, employees, partners and the wider community. Working within the People & Culture team and partnering closely with Corporate Affairs, this role leads the planning and delivery of events that support AIA New Zealand’s purpose, brand and business goals. It offers the opportunity to build trusted relationships across the organisation, collaborate with senior leaders and external partners, and use insights and feedback to continuously enhance the experience and impact of every event while supporting the growth of others within the team.

Your Impact

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of events that create meaningful engagement and align with business objectives, audience needs and AIA’s purpose.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders, colleagues and external partners to deliver seamless and impactful event experiences.
  • Coordinate event logistics, communications, travel, venues and supplier activities to ensure successful execution and positive participant experiences.
  • Manage event budgets responsibly, balancing quality, value and business outcomes while maintaining strong financial oversight.
  • Analyse event results, feedback and programme data to identify opportunities that improve future events and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coach and support the Events Coordinator, contributing to capability development and a collaborative team culture.

Your Capabilities

  • You have experience planning and delivering events from concept through to execution, with a focus on quality, stakeholder experience and results.
  • You bring strong organisational and time management skills, enabling you to balance multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have a collaborative approach and build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders and external suppliers.
  • You bring sound judgement in managing budgets, operational requirements, risks and competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • You have a continuous improvement mindset and use data, feedback and market insights to enhance event effectiveness and engagement.
  • You may also have experience in financial services, professional services, communications or marketing, and a relevant qualification in a related field.
