Director-Construction (Jakarta 2)

As Construction Director - Data Center, you will have overall leadership responsibility for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of one or multiple data center construction projects.
You will lead construction activities from pre-construction through construction, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and final handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and technical performance.
This is a senior leadership position requiring extensive experience in mission-critical construction, strong commercial and contractual understanding, and the ability to lead complex multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced development environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide overall strategic and operational leadership for the construction delivery of one or multiple hyperscale, colocation, or AI-ready data center projects.
- Lead projects from pre-construction, design development and procurement through construction, commissioning, IST and handover.
- Establish and drive project construction strategies, execution plans, schedules, budgets, quality plans, and delivery milestones.
- Provide leadership across multidisciplinary teams covering civil, structural, architectural, MEP, commissioning, commercial, HSE, quality, and project controls.
- Direct and manage main contractors, specialist subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and vendors to ensure successful project execution.
- Establish strong working relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, authorities, utilities, and other key project partners.
- Take overall accountability for construction programme performance, identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with approved budgets, schedules, design requirements, specifications, contractual obligations, and applicable codes and standards.
- Champion a zero-harm culture, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and site compliance are maintained throughout project delivery.
- Provide strong governance over construction quality, ensuring robust inspection, testing, documentation, and quality assurance processes are implemented.
- Lead the resolution of complex construction, technical, commercial, and programme issues, making timely decisions to maintain project momentum.
- Work closely with commissioning and operations teams to ensure a structured transition from construction through commissioning, IST, operational readiness, and final handover.
- Monitor contractor performance and hold delivery partners accountable against agreed KPIs, milestones, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
- Support procurement and commercial teams with contractor selection, tender evaluation, contract negotiations, variations, claims, and commercial risk management.
- Provide regular executive-level reporting on project progress, risks, programme, cost, quality, safety, and key decisions.
- Identify opportunities for standardisation, modularisation, prefabrication, design optimisation, and construction efficiency across the data center portfolio.
- Ensure lessons learned are captured and embedded across current and future projects.
- Extensive senior-level construction leadership experience, ideally within data centers, mission-critical facilities, hyperscale developments, or other complex critical infrastructure.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale data center construction projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover.
- Strong understanding of critical MEP infrastructure, including electrical distribution, generators, UPS, cooling systems, BMS/EPMS, fire protection, and associated mission-critical systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing large multidisciplinary teams and complex contractor ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, procurement, commercial management, risk, quality, and commissioning.
- Experience managing major construction programmes with significant capital expenditure and demanding delivery schedules.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate effectively with senior executives, clients, consultants, contractors, authorities, and local partners.
- Commercially astute with experience managing contracts, variations, claims, budgets, and contractor performance.
- Strong knowledge of international construction standards and HSE requirements.
- Experience working in Indonesia or Southeast Asia is highly desirable, particularly within the data center or mission-critical sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualifications such as PMP, CIOB, RICS, ICE, or equivalent would be advantageous.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
