Job description:
A Manufacturing Shipping Lead manages daily outbound logistics, supervises warehouse staff, and ensures orders are packed, labeled, and shipped safely and on time. This hands-on role coordinates between production, sales, and carriers to maintain smooth dock operations.
Job Summary
- Role Type: Full-Time / Hourly
- Reports To: Shipping Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Assign daily tasks, guide workflow, train new hires, and support team safety.
- Order Processing: Oversee picking, packing, creating, and labeling of manufactured goods.
- Operate Equipment: Drive forklifts safely and maintain required certifications.
- Logistics & Documentation: packing lists, and freight paperwork. Schedule freight carriers and trucks.
- Overseas the printing, picking, slotting, packing, releasing, and assembly of customer orders resolving any orders that have inventory issues
- Inventory & Quality Control: Check outgoing items for accuracy against pick lists. Resolve inventory discrepancies in the ERP/WMS system.
- Handle Inventory: Use the ERP or warehouse computer system to record shipments and fix inventory mistakes.
- Coordinate with Production: Talk with plant and sales teams to align shipping schedules with manufacturing output.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean workspace using 5S standards and follow OSHA and hazardous material guidelines where applicable.
- Additional tasks when needed.

Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2+ years in shipping, warehousing, or manufacturing logistics. Previous lead or supervisory experience.
- Leadership: Proven track record of guiding small teams or acting as lead.
- Check emails from customer service and reply as needed
- Communicates with customer service/transportation any anomalies regarding outbound shipments and appointment delays
- Skills: Able to use forklift equipment, computerized inventory software, and RF scanners.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and stand for long shifts.
