About the Role

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm


PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Draft Cleaner position will clean and sterilize all Company and customer machinery, utensils, and equipment used to operate or store beer products. They will also assist the Special Events/Draft Department in moving products from temporary on-site storage to beverage stations at Company sponsored events.


RESPONSIBILTIES

Essential Functions:

  • Clean and service all Company draft accounts on a weekly basis.
  • Service checks will include taps, washers, faucets, valves, lines, CO2, and temperature.
  • Complete any instructions left by sales staff are to be completed in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a written report daily of all activities, including cleaning records, problems, opportunities, suggestions, competitive activity, etc.
  • Notify Supervisor and/or Sales Rep of any problems, opportunities, or competitive activities with assigned accounts.
  • Listen to and help resolve customer inquiries & service complaints in a timely manner.
  • Observe safety procedures and work in a safe manner.
  • Efficiently move cases of product from on-site cold storage to beverage stations for sale to consumers.
  • Lift cases ranging from floor to chest height weighing up to 35 - 55lbs. placing the cases on a wheeled cart.
  • Push/Pull the loaded wheeled cart to nearby beverage station, approximately 100ft. or less in distance.
  • Unloading cases into coolers at beverage station.
  • Adhere to safe lifting practices.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (including bending, reaching, lifting, pulling, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Company Duties:

  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all applicable Federal, state, and local regulations regarding the merchandising of alcoholic beverages.
  • Maintain valid Montana driver’s license and keeps a good driving record.
  • Does not abuse equipment and maintain Company property such as company vehicles.
  • Demonstrate positive team dynamic and communication.

  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in all areas of responsibility to ensure quality of work.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS and KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA)

Any combination equivalent to the following education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience using or operating draft systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, other governmental agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to lift/carry/move 35 lbs. (maximum of 75 lbs.).
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (including bending, reaching, lifting, pulling, etc.).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative; Ability to handle wide range of tasks; and,
  • Understand and effectively communicate Summit Beverage's organizational mission and goals.

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position is typically four, 10-hour days, spent in customer accounts and special events locations, often outside standard business hours. The shifts, end times, and total hours worked may vary depending on the season and special events requests.

  • Seeing: Must be able to read product labels, read and interpret documentation. Must be able to see while driving at all times of the day. 75-100% of time.
  • Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with fellow employees and account contacts. 75-100% of time.
  • Standing/Walking: 75-100% of time.
  • Sitting at Desk/Sitting while driving: 50-74% of time.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 50-74% of time.
  • Lifting/Pushing/Pulling: lift approx. 35-55lbs – push/pull cart approx. 100-150lb – kegs approx. 165lb) 50-74% of time.
  • Grasping/Feeling/Hand Dexterity: 75-100% of time.
  • Driving & Travel: travel between warehouse and accounts only 25-49% of time.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, in cold coolers, in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Individuals may also be exposed to potential slippery surfaces from spills, high – moderate noise level from event and audience.
