This internship is designed to provide cross-training across a broad range of entry level IT functions, offering exposure to systems, end-user support, and security. The role will focus on learning the various aspects of IT to help build foundational skills in a professional environment.
As part of the IT team, the intern will assist with project coordination, call intake, training rollouts, inventory tracking, documentation, appointment scheduling, and supporting day-to-day initiatives. All work will be based out of our Southeast Texas corporate office.
Key Objectives of this role are:
- Assist with IT help desk requests (password resets, login issues, printer problems).
- Provide basic end-user support for hardware (laptops, desktops)
- Install and configure standard software applications.
- Help with setting up new user accounts, permissions, and email addresses.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks like software updates and patches.
- Maintain IT inventory records (hardware, software licenses, accessories).
- Assist with hardware replacement (keyboards, monitors, cables).
- Maintain workflow by analyzing and refining standard operating procedures, such as scheduling, communications, and inventory.
- Asist and support the Director of IT with administrative tasks.
- Document troubleshooting steps and update standard operating procedures.
- Shadow IT staff to learn processes for systems administration and security.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent bending stooping and reaching in all directions.
- Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer.
- Regular use of hands and fingers for typing and data entry.
- Work performed primarily in an office environment.
- Occasional crouching and knelling to access equipment under desks or IT network rooms.
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs
- Occasional climbing or use of a ladder to access equipment.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- MS Office knowledge – Word and Excel
- IT related certificates
- Experience with project management, scheduling, inventory management or an ITSM tool (ticket system/asset management) is also desirable, but not required
