About the Opportunity
DecisionPoint Technologies is seeking a Warehouse Project & Quality Coordinator to join our Greensboro, NC team.
This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity for an individual who can demonstrate strong performance and become a valuable long-term member of our team. The position offers the opportunity to establish yourself within DecisionPoint while playing a critical role in customer order execution and warehouse operations.
The Warehouse Project & Quality Coordinator serves as the key link between customer account requirements, project management, and day-to-day warehouse execution.
This role owns the customer order journey through the warehouse, from receipt and order intake through picking, packing, quality control, and shipment. You will work closely with Project Managers and the warehouse team to translate customer requirements into clear floor-level execution, monitor progress, identify risks, and resolve or escalate issues before they become customer-facing problems.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, highly detail-oriented, and comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Success in this role means orders move through the building on time, at the right quality, with no surprises, and when something does go wrong, the right people know about it quickly.
What You'll Do
Order & Project Coordination
- Coordinate customer orders from receipt through final shipment.
- Confirm incoming orders against customer specifications, including quantities, condition, documentation, addresses, and other requirements.
- Monitor order progress through picking, packing, quality control, and shipping.
- Sequence and prioritize work in alignment with customer SLAs and Project Manager guidance.
- Identify potential delays, shortages, or execution risks and communicate them immediately.
- Respond to customer-related issues assigned through the Solution Request database and coordinate resolution or appropriate handoff.
Quality Control
- Conduct or oversee quality checks based on customer-specific standards before orders ship.
- Make and document quality-hold decisions when an order does not meet requirements.
- Have the authority to pause or hold an order for quality reasons without prior approval.
- Ensure quality concerns are escalated promptly to the Logistics Manager and applicable Project Manager.
- Maintain quality standards even when orders are under schedule pressure.
Warehouse & Shipping Coordination
- Work directly with warehouse personnel to ensure orders are executed according to current customer requirements.
- Confirm outbound orders are properly packed, labeled, and documented.
- Verify shipping information and ensure ship confirmations and tracking are issued on time.
- Monitor workflow and troubleshoot operational issues in real time.
- Help ensure warehouse priorities align with customer commitments and project requirements.
Customer Requirements & Communication
- Maintain current knowledge of account-specific packaging, labeling, timing, compliance, and other requirements.
- Serve as the warehouse-side communication link to the Project Management team.
- Provide timely order-status updates and proactively communicate risks.
- Surface conflicts between warehouse throughput and customer requirements to the Logistics Manager and Project Manager.
- Deliver accurate and timely communication, even when the news is difficult.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate records of order status, exceptions, quality holds, and QC outcomes.
- Provide information and reporting that helps identify recurring operational issues.
- Identify root causes of delays, errors, rework, and quality issues.
- Recommend practical process improvements rather than repeatedly working around the same problems.
Reporting & Collaboration
This position reports to the Director of Operations, who is responsible for performance management, scheduling, and resource decisions.
The Warehouse Project & Quality Coordinator works closely with the Project Manager(s) and stakeholders assigned to customer accounts. The Project Manager owns the customer relationship and contractual requirements; this position owns the warehouse-level execution of those requirements.
This position does not have direct supervisory authority over warehouse employees but must effectively coordinate activities across the warehouse to meet customer and project requirements.
Priority conflicts between warehouse throughput and customer or project requirements are escalated to the Logistics Manager and other stakeholders.
What Success Looks Like
- Orders consistently ship on time and accurately against customer SLA requirements.
- Customer-specific requirements are clearly understood and consistently executed.
- Quality holds are made appropriately, consistently, and with proper documentation.
- Risks and escalation reach the Logistics Manager and Project Manager during the same shift they occur.
- Customer-facing surprises are minimized.
- Recurring operational problems are documented along with recommended solutions.
- Warehouse, logistics, and project teams have clear visibility into order status and issues.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- 2–4+ years of experience in warehouse operations, order fulfillment, logistics coordination, project coordination, or a related field.
- Experience supporting customer accounts or working in a customer-focused operational environment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Basic to intermediate proficiency with Excel or comparable reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, document, and act on quality issues under schedule pressure.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate problems early and clearly rather than waiting for issues to become customer-facing.
- Ability to coordinate work across teams without formal authority over the individuals performing the work.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple orders, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical & Work Environment
- This is an on-site position in a warehouse/distribution environment in Greensboro, NC.
- Regular periods of standing and walking throughout the warehouse are required.
- May require occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Must be comfortable working in an active warehouse environment.
Compensation & Opportunity
This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, and alignment with DecisionPoint Technologies' operational and customer-focused culture may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position.
