As Australia’s first bank and Australia’s first company we put service at the heart of everything we do and our people are our priority. About the Role

Create impact and join Risk Division as an Executive Manager, Technology Risk

What’s the role?

As an Executive Manager in Technology Risk, you will provide oversight and challenge technology risks, control across the Group (both those in business-facing divisions and central functions in Technology) to enable them to achieve strategic objectives within risk appetite.

As a senior member of the Technology Risk team, the incumbent will be expected to function relatively independently seeking guidance and escalating matters as necessary. That includes being the primary contact point in Technology Risk.

Sitting within the Risk Division, you’ll support the Head of Technology Risk and Divisional Chief Risk Officers to ensure change execution risks are identified, assessed, and managed in line with Westpac’s Three Lines of Defence model. You’ll attend key governance forums, review and challenge material changes, provide risk insights to senior stakeholders, and escalate emerging, or material risks where required.

This is a Sydney‑based role, with flexible work options (3 days in office)

What do I need?

  • Technology risk advisory experience in financial services or a consulting / audit firm with financial services experience
  • Demonstrable experience of influencing senior business leadership teams, strategic thinking and prioritisation
  • A sound technology background in delivery, Line 1, risk management or architecture would be an advantage
  • Ability to look at the ‘big picture’ and at the same time, dive into the details
  • Very high-quality focus, attention to detail and the ability to manage conflicting priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • The ability to obtain, process and provide insights into large datasets
  • Advanced PC literacy (MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  •
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CRISC) and a relevant tertiary degree

Why join us?

We’re obsessed with becoming our customers #1 banking partner for life and we’re looking for people who are passionate about helping us achieve that goal. In return we’re committed to making Westpac the best place to work in the country. Here are just a few of the ways we’re already doing that:

  • Play a pivotal role shaping technology and cyber risk outcomes across a major Group‑wide transformation, with visibility at the highest levels of the organisation.
  • Ongoing special offers on banking products and discounts from top brands, including generous employee-only mortgage rates!
  • Continued flexible work arrangements to help you achieve a greater work/life balance, and a variety of leave options including Culture, Lifestyle and Wellbeing leave.
  • Tailored learning and development opportunities to help your grow your career within the bank.
  • Lots of opportunities to ‘give back’ to the Community by getting involved in our many volunteering initiatives
