Bar Runner

Description

 The Bar Runner is responsible for supporting the bar and patio areas by ensuring food and guest requests are delivered quickly, accurately, and professionally. This position works closely with the kitchen, bartenders, servers, and other team members to maintain an efficient flow of service and provide a positive guest experience.

The Bar Runner will primarily assist with running food from the kitchen to tables in the bar and patio areas, while also responding to guest service needs such as providing additional dishware, flatware, condiments, napkins, and other requested items. This role is an important part of keeping the bar and patio areas clean, organized, and operating efficiently during service.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Run food from the kitchen to guests seated in the bar and patio areas in a timely and accurate manner.
• Confirm food orders are delivered to the correct table and guest.
• Assist bartenders and servers with guest service needs throughout the bar and patio areas.
• Respond to guest requests for additional dishware, flatware, napkins, condiments, sauces, and other supplies.
• Monitor tables and surrounding areas to identify and address guest needs proactively.
• Clear and reset tables as needed to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar, patio, service areas, and surrounding guest areas.
• Communicate with kitchen staff, bartenders, servers, and management regarding food orders, guest requests, and service concerns.
• Assist with restocking service items and supplies as needed.
• Handle food and service items safely and in accordance with applicable food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain a professional, friendly, and service-oriented demeanor when interacting with guests.
• Assist other front-of-house team members with service-related tasks during busy periods.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately deliver food and guest requests.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors and managers.
• Ability to remain calm and organized during busy service periods.
• Must be able to maintain a clean and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach, carry, and lift items used in restaurant service.
• Ability to safely carry food, dishes, trays, and other service items.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including the patio area, and in varying weather conditions as applicable.

Work Environment

This position operates in a fast-paced restaurant and hospitality environment and may involve frequent interaction with guests, kitchen staff, bartenders, servers, and management. The Bar Runner may work both indoors and outdoors and should be comfortable working in a high-energy environment during periods of increased guest volume.
