Our physicians, some of whom have practiced medicine for over 30 years, work within four medical practices located at 275 Collier Road on the campus of Piedmont Hospital in Buckhead: - Atlanta Obstetrics & Genecology Associates - Peachtree Women's Specialists - Piedmont OB-GYN - Piedmont Women's Healthcare (formerly Drs. Taylor, Cook, Khan, and Zertuche) Each individual practice has its own culture and personality, so every patient can find the provider and medical group that best suits her needs and comfort level. Our skilled surgeons are experienced in both traditional and minimally-invasive surgical procedures to treat a variety of women’s health issues. Surgeries and all deliveries are performed at Piedmont Hospital. Our services also include a state-of-the-art Imaging Center that offers digital screening mammography and bone density testing, and an Ultrasound Center, both in the same building that houses our medical practices.
About the Role

Description

OB-GYN Practice in need of an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP).The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing high quality care and treatment for patients in need of obstetrics or gynecology services. NPs perform a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and also enhance coordination of care and patient satisfaction. This role exemplifies professionalism, excellence and leadership in a clinical care setting.


Experience in esthetic is a plus.


Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Reports to: Divisional Physicians and Practice Administrator

FLSA Status: Exempt


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide patient-centered care that enhances patient satisfaction and ensures continuity of care.
  • Conduct physical exams and provide education and counseling on preventative care and family planning.
  • Provide OB/GYN-specific care such as evaluating and managing common gynecological conditions and prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care.
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, and write prescriptions.
  • Provide help and support to other clinical staff and/or physicians, as necessary.

Requirements

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of health care planning and execution sufficient to provide effective patient care.
  • Knowledge of the policies and procedures of a clinic sufficient to provide effective patient care. 
  • Thorough knowledge of office policies and procedures to accurately answer questions from patients and staff.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and procedures.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Knowledge and correct usage of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, Microsoft Office, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology (preferred).
  • Ability to navigate and effectively use EMR. Knowledge and experience with Centricity EMR system is preferred.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority over assigned work functions. 
  • Ability to move and manipulate patients, as needed.
  • Ability to organize and integrate organizational priorities and deadlines. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate in writing, over the telephone, and in person with physicians, office staff, and patients.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Nurse Practitioner studies required
  • Valid and unrestricted NP license in the state of Georgia required.
  • Experience operating office equipment and basic Word programs is required.
  • Minimum 4 years OB/GYN-centered experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer in a stationary position.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking to assist and assess patients.
  • Ability to move and manipulate patients required.
  • Occasional bending and lifting of supplies required.
  • Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times and transport up to 25 pounds at a time short distance required.
