About ININ Games
At ININ Games, we believe video games are more than entertainment. They are part of our cultural heritage and deserve to be preserved for future generations. We bring classic titles from the 80s, 90s and 00s back to modern platforms, and we do more than re-release them: we provide historical context, add thoughtful improvements and make them available to a global audience. We work with legendary partners such as SEGA, Taito, Irem, NatsumeAtari and Yu Suzuki, and we revive iconic franchises including Space Invaders, Bubble Bobble, Cotton, Turrican, Wonder Boy, Simon the Sorcerer and Shenmue. Alongside our heritage portfolio, we publish original games by indie studios that carry retro game design forward into new IP.
ININ is a digital-first publisher and part of United Games Entertainment, an independent developer and publisher with a global focus on North America, Europe and Japan.
Location
Remote, Germany-based. Occasional travel to industry events and partner meetings.Your mission
- Own the digital-first publishing pipeline across PC and console: Steam, Epic, GOG, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo.
- Plan and execute go-to-market for every release: positioning, store presence, wishlist campaigns, PR, creator and community activation, pricing and promotion planning.
- Own the Digital Publishing P&L, including title-level cost and revenue planning, forecasting, margin management and profitability tracking.
- Manage licensor relationships and approval processes, with a strong focus on Japanese partners.
- Source, evaluate and negotiate new projects across classic re-releases, remakes and retro-inspired indie titles, and own term sheets and contract negotiations.
- Oversee external development partnerships at portfolio level: set delivery expectations, quality standards and escalation paths, while day-to-day milestone execution sits with the Publishing Producer reporting to you.
- Build and maintain direct relationships with platform holders such as Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and Valve.
- Grow catalogue revenue through pricing strategy, promotional planning and platform featuring.
- Translate objectives into measurable KPIs across the full conversion funnel, from wishlists through conversion, sell-through, returns and review metrics, and report performance directly to the CEO.
- Lead and grow the ININ publishing team, spanning product management, business development and publishing production, ensuring strong performance and cross-functional collaboration.
- Shape the team structure and talent strategy together with the CEO, including hiring priorities and individual development plans.
- Represent ININ towards platform holders, partners and the developer community at industry events.
Your profile
- At least 7 years in games publishing, including 3 years in a leadership role with team responsibility.
- Proven track record of multi-platform releases on PC and console, from submission and certification through to launch and post-launch support.
- Strong command of digital storefronts, first-party relations, pricing and promotion mechanics.
- Confident in commercial and contractual matters: term sheets, licensing agreements, milestone and delivery terms. ININ has no in-house legal function, so contractual literacy is essential.
- Experience working with licensors and development partners across cultures, ideally including Japanese companies.
- Genuine knowledge of and passion for retro and classic games and their cultural relevance. This is a working requirement, not a nice-to-have.
- Analytical, structured and hands-on. Comfortable making decisions with incomplete data and owning the outcome.
- Fluent English and German at B2 level or higher.
- Self-directed in a fully remote setup.
- Experience with retro-inspired indie titles and their communities.
- Japanese language skills.
- Network among indie studios, porting partners and localisation providers.
What you can expect of us
- Direct responsibility for iconic franchises and a portfolio with an established global fanbase.
- Full ownership of the digital publishing business, including P&L and team.
- Short decision paths, flat hierarchies and direct access to the CEO.
- Fully remote setup with flexible working conditions.
- Competitive compensation and participation programme.
- A label with a clear digital-first strategy and room to shape how it grows.
