About the Role

CSMART is currently looking for a full time Electrical Instructor as part of the Operations department.

Reporting to a Senior and indirectly to the Principal Instructor - Technical, this role has a particular focus on current and emerging technologies, crew resource management and company procedures achieved by training and simulations.

As an Instructor (Electrical), your responsibilities, amongst others, will include:

  • Delivering training to ship-board technical staff
  • Delivering training according to the CSMART course delivery process and quality standards
  • Developing content / new procedures to be implemented onboard ships
  • Keeping up to date with current practices and technology
  • Liaise with Operations Support and other instructors to ensure everything is prepared prior and at the end courses
  • Following up with ‘overperforming’ and ‘underperforming’ participant process

 

Requirements & Experience

  • Experience should be or have been in the role of 1st Electrical  Engineer at minimum.
  • Experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer / Superintendent and Subject Matter Experts (SME) in Marine Engineering is valuable
  • Cruise Ship experience is preferred
  • Experience in teaching/instructing would be an asset

 

Skills (Technical / Language / Personal Skills)

  • Knowledge of computer, networks and MS Office365
  • Fluent written and verbal English
  • Strong interpersonal- and communication skills
  • Works well in a multi-cultural team
  • Ability to work unassisted

Our Operations department offers top-notch nautical and technical courses and programs.
Our instructors deliver these programs including pre- and post-course activities and course review. Furthermore, they stay up-to-date on the latest teaching techniques and use simulators to enhance our training.They also ensure that shipboard operations and procedures our taught efficiently. Our operators operate the simulators and assist the instructors with simulator excercises. Lastly, our scheduling and administration department ensure smooth operations by providing scheduling, administrative and logistics support.
