Summary Under supervision, operates material handler, similar style to an excavator, as well as other Heavy Equipment including wheel loader and articulating dump truck. in a facility, unloading or loading trucks, semis, rail cars with material, sorting material in yard. |
- Unloads customer vehicles including small or medium trucks or semi-trailers
- Sorts material in appropriate areas
- Loads trucks and rail cars with scrap material
- Ensures torch cutter is supplied with material to torch
- Inspects all loads according to yard standards, ensuring rail cars and semi-trailers are safe to leave the yard
- Inspects all inbound/outbound material
- Greases and changes oil on machine. Handles minor maintenance duties on the crane.
- Some hand sorting and labor also may be required
- Other responsibilities as assigned

Safety: Wears all necessary PPE when working in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times. Failure to follow standards, may result in loss of position.

Requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Prior experience operating heavy machinery and driving a semi-tractor/trailer preferred but not required as we will train candidates. Basic machine maintenance knowledge a plus. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30-50 lbs and 100+lbs on 2-person lift. |
