About the Role

Description

Summary:

Responsible for coordinating daily storeroom operations and maintaining effective inventory management practices in an industrial storeroom environment. Serves as a primary resource for storeroom activities, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, issuance, and tracking of materials. Coordinates with internal departments and vendors to support operational needs while maintaining inventory accuracy, storeroom organization, and workplace safety. 

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily storeroom activities to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Issue materials, tools, and supplies to employees and departments as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using the Avantis Inventory System or other inventory management software.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to Purchasing personnel.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Organize and maintain storeroom locations to ensure efficiency, accessibility, and accuracy.
  • Coordinate delivery and movement of materials throughout the facility.
  • Maintain storeroom security and ensure compliance with established inventory control procedures.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for storeroom processes and inventory systems.
  • Communicate and coordinate with departments, employees, vendors, and contractors regarding material requirements and inventory issues.
  • Assist in developing and improving storeroom procedures and work practices.
  • Train and assist employees on storeroom procedures, inventory transactions, and material handling processes.
  • Generate inventory and material usage reports as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management, material flow, and workplace efficiency.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of warehouse, storeroom, inventory control, or supply chain experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong inventory management and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with inventory management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Experience working independently

  •  May be exposed to wet or humid conditions. 
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • May be regularly exposed to high noise environments.
  • May be exposed to extremely dusty environments.
  • Ability to routinely lift objects of up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to obtain forklift driving license.
  • Ability to work at limited heights from ladders or platform 

Education & Training: 


Minimum:

  • High School / GED.

Preferred: 

  • Associates degree or higher
  • Experience in warehouse, inventory, storeroom, or materials management functions.
