About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Setter Manager to lead and develop our Solar Setter Team. The Setter Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, coaching, and motivating setters while overseeing daily field activities, appointment quality, and overall team performance.

The ideal candidate is a strong sales leader who can build a high-performing team, establish accountability, and create a positive, results-driven culture. This position is ideal for someone with experience in solar sales, door-to-door sales, canvassing, or team leadership who enjoys developing people and driving results.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, coach, and motivate the Setter Team to achieve individual and team sales goals.
  • Recruit and assist in onboarding qualified Solar Setters.
  • Train new and existing setters on company processes, solar products, lead-generation techniques, and appointment-setting strategies.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Establish daily and weekly activity expectations and monitor team progress.
  • Track setter activity, leads generated, appointments scheduled, sit rates, and overall performance.
  • Monitor the quality of appointments to ensure they meet company qualification standards.
  • Work closely with the Closing Team to improve appointment quality and conversion rates.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to setters to improve performance.
  • Identify underperforming team members and develop action plans to improve results.
  • Recognize and develop high-performing setters for leadership and advancement opportunities.
  • Help establish and manage field territories and daily canvassing activities.
  • Ensure setters properly document leads and appointments in the company’s designated CRM or sales platform.
  • Maintain accurate performance reports and communicate results to Sales Leadership.
  • Ensure the Setter Team follows company policies, sales practices, compliance requirements, and applicable laws.
  • Promote professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and a positive sales culture.
  • Assist leadership with implementing new sales initiatives, campaigns, and performance programs.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in solar sales, door-to-door sales, canvassing, lead generation, or a related sales environment.
  • Previous sales management or team leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, coach, and motivate sales professionals.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated, competitive, and results-oriented.
  • Ability to set clear expectations and hold team members accountable.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a field-based and performance-driven environment.
  • Ability to analyze sales activity and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Basic proficiency with CRM systems, mobile applications, and other sales technology.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout assigned territories.
  • Ability to work outdoors and support the team in residential neighborhoods.
  • Solar industry experience is highly preferred but may not be required for candidates with strong sales leadership experience.

Compensation

  • This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position with a performance-based compensation structure. 
  • The compensation structure is designed to reward successful team development, qualified appointment generation, and overall sales performance. 
  • Final compensation details will be outlined in the applicable Independent Contractor and Compensation Agreement.
