About the Role

Description

The Supply Chain Specialist supports material movement, packaging, shipping, and receiving functions in a composite manufacturing environment. This role is structured into three progressive levels of responsibility:

  • Level 1 – Specialist develops foundational expertise in one area: Packing, Shipping, or Receiving.
  • Level 2 – Specialist expands responsibilities across two of the three core areas.
  • Level 3 – Specialist demonstrates full capability across Packing, Shipping, and Receiving, ensuring seamless end-to-end         material flow.

This position builds cross-functional skills, providing career progression opportunities and supporting operational flexibility.

Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities

  

Level 1 – Core Area (Packing, Shipping, or Receiving)

  • Execute daily tasks in assigned area (packing, shipping, or receiving).
  • Maintain accuracy of documentation, labeling, and system updates.
  • Communicate with drivers, carriers, and internal teams as required.

Level 2 – Dual Area Support

  • Perform responsibilities across two areas (e.g., Shipping & Receiving, Packing & Shipping, or Packing & Receiving).
  • Cross-train and support peers to balance workload across functions.
  • Assist with inventory checks, material flow, and staging activities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve efficiency.
  • Support process improvement initiatives.

Level 3 – Full Supply Chain Specialist

  • Perform all tasks across Packing, Shipping, and Receiving.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, including inspection, documentation, and coordination with carriers.
  • Prepare, package, label, and stage outbound materials per specifications.
  • Oversee receiving activities including verification against purchase orders and reporting discrepancies.
  • Provide training and guidance to Level 1-2 Specialists.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
  • Contribute to LEAN initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

Shared Across All Levels:

  • Monitor and achieve established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, safety compliance, ensuring continuous improvement, and alignment with company goals.
  • Keep work area clean and organized to prevent safety hazards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE).
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
  • Forklift certification preferred but not required.


Knowledge & Experience  

  • Level 1 – Entry-level; experience in warehouse, packing, or shipping operations preferred.
  • Level 2 – 1-2 years of combined experience across two supply chain functions.
  • Level 3 – 3+ years of experience across packing, shipping, and receiving in a manufacturing environment; familiarity with ERP/MRP/WMS systems preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Hours / Shifts: This is a 1st Shift position.


 Monday – Friday; hours may vary depending on shift and production needs.
