Position Summary
We are looking for a highly engaged, hands-on Operations Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. This role is ideal for a leader who is comfortable navigating change, building processes, developing people, and driving results while maintaining a strong presence on the production floor.
The successful candidate will be a visible leader who spends the majority of their time supporting employees where the work happens, coaching performance, removing barriers, and ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality production. This individual must be able to balance strong employee relationships with clear accountability and performance expectations.
Experience in metals manufacturing, rolling mills, metal processing, or similar industrial manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team in a rapidly growing operation.
- Establish a culture of accountability, engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a consistent presence on the plant floor, providing real-time coaching, support, and direction.
- Develop strong working relationships with employees while setting and reinforcing clear performance expectations.
- Address performance issues promptly and professionally while recognizing and reinforcing positive performance.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development efforts to meet growing business demands.
- Lead through change and effectively communicate evolving processes, priorities, and operational requirements.
- Create an environment where employees feel respected, heard, and empowered to contribute.
Safety Leadership
- Champion a proactive safety culture through daily employee engagement and hazard awareness.
- Lead safety discussions, investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Hold employees accountable for maintaining a safe work environment.
Production & Operations
- Lead daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery objectives.
- Ensure production schedules and operational priorities are executed effectively.
- Drive operational discipline and consistency across shifts.
- Identify and remove obstacles that impact productivity and employee performance.
- Support startup activities, process improvements, and operational growth initiatives.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, operating procedures, and process controls.
- Train and coach employees on standardized work methods and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency.
- Utilize data and employee feedback to identify opportunities for process improvement.
Equipment Reliability
- Partner with Maintenance and Reliability teams to ensure equipment availability and performance.
- Support preventive maintenance initiatives and reinforce operator ownership of equipment care.
- Escalate equipment concerns and drive timely resolution of operational issues.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a supervisory, team lead, or production management role.
- Experience leading hourly production employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success building strong teams while maintaining accountability for performance and results.
- Strong coaching, communication, conflict resolution, and employee development skills.
- Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and evolving processes.
- Ability to make sound decisions and drive execution under pressure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems.
Preferred
- Metals manufacturing, copper processing, steel, aluminum, rolling mill, or other heavy industrial manufacturing experience.
- Experience supporting startup, expansion, or high-growth manufacturing operations.
- Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Behavioral Management experience.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the manufacturing facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial conditions.
- Ability to work additional hours as business needs require.
Work Schedule
This position follows a 2-2-3 rotating 12-hour shift schedule, providing employees with every other weekend off.
Schedule Rotation:
- Week 1: Work 2 days, Off 2 days, Work 3 days
- Week 2: Off 2 days, Work 2 days, Off 3 days
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours worked one week, 48 hours worked the next
- Average of 42 hours per week
- Every other weekend is a 3-day weekend
