About the opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in Meridian, Idaho. This role is a great fit for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys digging into the details, solving problems, and finding ways to make processes work better.

You’ll play an important role in our month end close, reconciliations, job costing, financial reporting, and accounting operations. Beyond simply identifying discrepancies, we’re looking for someone who wants to understand why they happened and help improve the processes behind them.


What you'll do


Month End Close & Financial Reporting

  • Lead, organize, and participate in the month end close process
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries, including accruals, amortizations, and reclasses
  • Compile and analyze financial information to support accurate reporting
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, cash flow statements, and other financial reporting

Account Reconciliations & Problem Solving

  • Perform complex Balance Sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
  • Investigate and resolve unusual or unexplained accounting entries and discrepancies
  • Identify recurring issues and trace them back to their root cause
  • Maintain accurate and auditable supporting documentation

Job Costing & Fixed Assets

  • Manage job costing and project accounting processes
  • Track and reconcile project costs against budgets, purchase orders, and contracts
  • Manage fixed assets, including documentation and depreciation
  • Manage the accounting functions related to the company vehicle fleet, including commercial leases, documentation, and depreciation

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows
  • Support ERP implementation, testing, automation, and other systems initiatives
  • Partner with technical staff, project leaders, and managers to identify efficiency improvements
  • Create reports and automate processes where appropriate

Cross Functional & Audit Support

  • Collaborate with teams across the organization on projects and initiatives
  • Support AR, AP, and payroll functions as needed
  • Fulfill tax and audit requests and prepare supporting schedules
  • Liaise with external auditors and CPA firms as needed

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including job costing or project accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, journal entries, and financial reporting
  • Experience with complex Balance Sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Familiarity with ROU, cash flow, revenue recognition, and external audits
  • Experience with ERP or job costing systems such as Business Central, NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms
  • Strong Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office skills
  • QuickBooks Desktop proficiency required; comparable accounting software will be considered
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a root cause mindset
  • Comfortable working through incomplete, inconsistent, or ambiguous information
  • Highly organized with strong accountability and time management
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with others
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
