About the Role

Description

At Children & Families of Iowa, our mission is simple but powerful: Restore Hope. Build Futures. Change Lives. As a Family Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in helping children and families navigate difficult circumstances and work toward stability and healing.


In this role, you’ll support families experiencing trauma or life challenges by providing guidance, transportation, and supervised family interactions. You’ll collaborate with parents, children, foster families, and other professionals who share a commitment to keeping families safe, supported, and connected.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Family Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide transportation for families and children as needed
  • Facilitate and supervise family interactions
  • Provide crisis intervention and support services
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings between families and FCS team members
  • Complete accurate and timely case documentation
  • Collaborate with a team dedicated to supporting and strengthening families

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience in human services working with children and/or dependent adults

Preferred qualifications, but not required:

  • Associate degree with at least six months of relevant experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work independently, respond to emergencies, and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable internet access or ability to work from an office location
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Auto insurance with liability coverage and a safe driving record
