About the Role

Description

ProSource360 is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to support the 711th Human Performance Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) in Dayton, Ohio. This role is responsible for providing a full range of biomedical equipment maintenance services, including preventive maintenance, corrective repair, installation/de-installation, safety and compliance inspections, documentation, and reporting. The BMET will work with both medical and simulation equipment to ensure readiness and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide variety of medical and simulation equipment
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate complex electronic systems and medical devices
  • Disassemble equipment and replace defective parts including motors, transformers, and circuit boards
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all service and maintenance activities
  • Ensure all work follows applicable safety regulations, OEM specifications, and government standards
  • Evaluate condition of in-use equipment and provide recommendations for upgrade or replacement
  • Test, classify, and determine disposition of medical and simulation equipment
  • Provide training to medical staff on proper operation and preventive maintenance of equipment
  • Operate and maintain A/V support systems and virtual reality or simulation devices as applicable
  • Use technical manuals and attend OEM-provided training to remain current with device knowledge
  • Use PPE and follow safety protocols when working with live electrical systems or other hazards
  • Participate in administrative actions such as reports and evaluations as needed
  • Support physical movement of equipment and work in both indoor and outdoor environments

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a biomedical equipment technician
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of Air Force, DoD, and professional medical equipment standards (e.g., The Joint Commission, CAP, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, FDA)
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical data
  • Skilled in diagnosing complex electronic systems and logic circuits
  • Ability to lift and handle items up to 51 lbs and occasionally heavier
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a government vehicle on base
  • Must pass color vision test and meet all health requirements as specified by the contract

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of military medical or deployment experience
  • Familiarity with Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS)
  • Knowledge of military protocols and administrative procedures
