About The Company
At Expo Home Improvement, we believe a remodel should do more than improve your space. It should transform the way you live. That’s why Texans choose us when they’re ready for something better. Whether it's making a bathroom safer, bringing your kitchen remodel dreams to life, or replacing outdated windows for comfort and efficiency, we deliver transformations that are both functional and personal. Our approach is simple: we listen, we follow through, and we treat every home like it’s our own. That mindset has led thousands of families across Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and East Texas to trust our team to get the job done right. Behind every project is a team that brings purpose and care to their work. We’re proud to foster a culture built on growth, dedication, and doing right by the homeowner, and by each other.
About the Role

Description

The Senior Accountant owns the month-end close and financial statement preparation process, and serves as a key checkpoint for the accuracy of our P&L. This role works closely with Operations, Sales, and other departments to validate transaction data, flags unusual spend or trends for senior management before they become larger issues and keeps our Acumatica ERP data clean and reliable. The Senior Accountant also monitors inventory activity, owns the bad debt collections process, and provides bookkeeping support for our sister companies, Collective Way and Cerulean Blue. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role, not a high-level FP&A/strategy position — the right person is energized by getting the numbers right every month, not just analyzing them after the fact.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

  •  Own the month-end close process: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules on a consistent close calendar.
  •  Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  •  Analyze monthly P&L results against budget and prior periods; identify spend or trends that are out of the ordinary and proactively alert senior management to potential issues.

Data Integrity & Cross-Department Collaboration

  •  Partner with Operations, Sales, Purchasing, and other departments to validate transactions and resolve discrepancies that affect the P&L.
  •  Own day-to-day Acumatica data integrity: review postings and coding, correct errors at the source, and maintain consistent use of the chart of accounts.
  •  Act as a go-to accounting resource for other departments on coding questions, documentation, and process compliance.

Inventory Monitoring

  •  Monitor inventory transactions, reconciliations, and valuation in Acumatica; investigate and resolve variances between physical counts and system records.
  •  Partner with warehouse and operations teams on inventory allocations, adjustments, and month-end cutoff.

Bad Debt & Collections

  •  Own the bad debt collections process, including AR aging review, customer follow-up, and escalation.
  •  Calculate and maintain the bad debt reserve; prepare regular AR aging and bad debt reports for management.

Sister Company Support

  •  Assist with bookkeeping and month-end close activities for Collective Way and Cerulean Blue, applying consistent accounting policies across all entities.

Process Improvement

  •  Identify and implement improvements to close timelines, reporting templates, and internal controls.
