About The Company
From rescue helicopters to signing the Equator Principles, from paying super during parental leave to adding 'Touch ID' biometric technology to our banking apps and being first on the scene with a helping hand in times of crisis... we have a proud history of stepping up to be first for our customers, communities and people. As Australia’s first bank and Australia’s first company we put service at the heart of everything we do and our people are our priority. We've grown up as a company and expanded both in Australia and throughout Asia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Now we are made up of your favourite financial institution names including Westpac, BankSA, St.George Bank, BT Financial Group, RAMs and Bank of Melbourne, a change of job doesn’t mean a change of employer at Westpac Group. We've made a commitment to put our customers first in everything we do. This means creating fundamentally superior customer experiences for each customer, every time. We promise that when you meet with someone from Westpac Group, you'll be touched by their genuine dedication to helping our customers prosper and grow. Westpac Group acknowledges the traditional owners as the custodians of this land, recognising their connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to Australia's First Peoples, and to their Elders, past and present.
About the Role

What's the role?

As Director, Strategic Delivery, you'll help shape the future direction of Consumer by leading some of the organisation's most important strategic priorities. Working across Business, Finance, Data & AI and Transformation, you'll tackle complex challenges, uncover opportunities for growth and value creation, and turn insight into recommendations that influence executive decision-making. You'll lead a high-performing team of experienced professionals, bringing together diverse perspectives to solve problems, challenge thinking and deliver meaningful outcomes.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Sydney, with flexible hybrid working arrangements.

What do I need?

  • Experience leading strategic, commercial finance, transformation or business performance initiatives, with the curiosity and judgement to explore unfamiliar problems, navigate ambiguity and create clear direction without waiting for a perfectly defined brief.
  • Deep commercial acumen across P&L, balance sheet, customer, unit and channel economics, with the ability to evaluate strategic trade-offs, develop scenarios and prioritise investment toward the greatest value.
  • Strong analytical curiosity and hands-on data fluency, comfortable exploring complex datasets, testing hypotheses and challenging assumptions to uncover the “so what” and translate it into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complexity, build compelling executive narratives and engage confidently with stakeholders at every level of seniority.
  • A proactive, self-directed leader who influences without authority and mobilises action, building trust across Businesses, Strategy, Finance, Data and Transformation teams while taking ownership from an ambiguous question through to recommendation and business outcome.

If you're motivated by solving complex problems, influencing meaningful decisions and creating lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.
