About the role

To strengthen our internal finance department, we are currently looking for a Financial Advisor to join our team at our offices in Aalst (Hofstade).

A prominent player like Jan De Nul Group requires a robust financial department. Our team guarantees the delivery of financial expertise across the entire group, ranging from accounting and data controlling to bank guarantees and taxation. Our primary focus is on making sound financial decisions and managing and optimizing all financial processes. Together, we make a difference.

What you’ll do

As a Financial Advisor Project Finance, you will be involved in domestic and international projects across the various segments in which JDN Group operates: dredging and marine works, offshore, civil engineering, and environmental activities.

Your primary tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in finding suitable financing solutions for assigned projects. You will be involved in structuring and monitoring loans at the project company level (PPP projects) and loans insured by an Export Credit Agency (Delcredere-Ducroire, ODL, etc.).
  • Analyzing, mapping out, and monitoring financial risks associated with project execution.
  • Actively participating in financial working groups with clients, banks, and financial consultants.
  • Delivering financial input for new tenders.
  • Ensuring thorough follow-up of financial reporting and communication both internally (to management) and externally (e.g., to financial institutions) for PPP projects.

You will work from our centralized and easily accessible offices in Aalst, Hofstade, with a willingness to travel occasionally for short business trips to our projects worldwide.What do you bring?

A Master’s degree in Business Engineering, Applied Economics, or Business Administration, combined with first relevant experience in a financial environment. You possess broad financial knowledge, with an affinity or interest in project finance. A solid understanding of and interest in financial modeling (Excel) is considered a plus.

  • You are a results-driven, motivated person with a high degree of independence.
  • You possess strong attention to detail and a structured, organized approach. You possess strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • You can communicate fluent in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French and Spanish is a plus.
  • You are willing to undertake occasional short-term international travel for project negotiations.
