JOB SUMMARY

The Commercial Painter and General Maintenance role is responsible for routine to moderately complete surface preparation, painting, and finishing tasks. Applying a variety of methods, media, and techniques to both interior and exterior surfaces. The position performs routine repair, maintenance and replacement of various components of the physical structure of the hangar and terminal buildings.


Pay: $31.00 - $34.00 per hour

Shift:  Sunday - Thursday; 6:00 am - 2:30 pm 


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Painter

  • Examines surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
  • Complete on-site preparations such as, moving furniture and covering fixtures.
  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by repairing damaged areas, scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint.
  • Fill cracks and holes with appropriate materials (e.g. plaster)
  • Mix paint and other materials to prepare the correct color or texture.
  • Paint surfaces according to instructions with a variety of tools.
  • Perform basic stencil and line work, which may include painting lines on floors, and other surfaces.
  • Apply varnish and other finishes.
  • Maintains an inventory of supplies.
  • Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.

General Maintenance

  • Perform minor repairs:
  • General building maintenance
  • General cleaning
  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry
  • Electrical
  • Keeps workspaces neat, clean and free of clutter.
  • Participates in emergency drills and environmental safety activities, as requested.
  • Attends and participates in worksite safety and in-service training.
  • Understand and comply with OSHA, Safety and PPE requirements.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES/LEVEL OF SUPERVISION

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Receives specific direction as to goals and the achievement of those goals. Evaluated based on the successful performance of essential job duties and responsibilities and achievement of goals. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent
  • Proven experience as a commercial painter
  • 1-2 years of painting experience
  • 1-2 years of general handyman experience
  • Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them
  • Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
  • Understanding
  • Basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry skills
  • Power hand tool knowledge and maintenance

WORKING CONDITIONS, TRAVEL, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with additional hours as needed to address the needs of the customer.   • Manual dexterity and ability to balance on scaffolding, ladders, etc.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces
  • Ability to frequently reach, twist, turn, kneel, bend, squat and stoop
  • Ability to regularly lift, drag, carry and push equipment, tools and supplies up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to function in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to drive a vehicle
  • Exposure to inclement weather conditions
  • Correctable vision and hearing

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Pass a drug test
  • Pass a Keystone Management, LLC background check
  • Pass the Boston Logan Airport SIDA badge and drivers test within two (2) tries
  • Pass a driving history check
  • Possess a current driving license
  • Flexible and reliable for all shifts to support projects and clients
