Why ArkVets exists
We started ArkVets because we believed veterinary medicine could be practiced differently — in hospitals where doctors are trusted, techs are developed, and clients are told the truth about their pets' care without being pressured into it. We're locally and family owned, three hospitals across Metro Phoenix, and we intend to stay that way.
We're not a chain. We're not a rollup. There's no regional VP flying in with a new script. When something's broken, you can tell the owner directly — she'll answer. When something works, it becomes part of how we practice everywhere.
That independence is the point. It's what lets us do fear-free-inspired medicine as the default, keep estimates transparent, protect our doctors from burnout, and invest in the equipment and the people who make good medicine possible.
About ArkVets Central Phoenix
Central Phoenix is our 7th Street hospital — a purpose-built, five-year-old location in one of the best pockets of the Valley. Walkable, high-income, surrounded by great restaurants, close to Arcadia, Biltmore, and North Central.
Our clients here are engaged and willing to invest in their pets' care. When you recommend the workup, the dental, the follow-through — they say yes. It changes the shape of your day and, honestly, your ProSal.
The building is 6,700 square feet with two large surgery suites, a separate contagious-disease area, a dedicated cat room, a special-purpose room, digital radiology, ultrasound, Ligasure, and a Class IV therapy laser. There's a medical director on-site, and 3 techs per DVM (more as you take on more).
What practicing here actually looks like
Around 18 appointments per day, with 1–2 surgery days per week — you help shape the split. General practice mixed with a dedicated urgent care service, so no two days look identical.
You'll have surgery and dentistry coaching available, quarterly doctor training programs, and individual mentorship in whatever you want to grow — ultrasound, endoscopy, advanced surgery, leadership. We invest in the specific direction each doctor wants to go.
Our default is low-stress, fear-free-inspired care — but we run urgent care too, and we won't pretend a scared, actively bleeding patient at 4:45 always gets the slow, cookies-first workup. Honesty about the work is part of the culture.
No mandatory on-call. If a shift needs coverage, we ask — we don't require. Doctors choose whether to say yes.
Who fits here
Three things matter to us as a team, and they're the honest filter for whether you'll thrive here:
• We Do the Right Thing. We serve with integrity, exceed expectations, and intend to leave our profession better than we found it.
• We Make Magic Happen. We take care of each other. Our energy changes lives — humans and pets both.
• We Have Contagious Curiosity. We seek to grow. We value professional development. We take an active role in making the workplace better.
