Join Each's Youth Outreach Recovery Support (YORS) program and play a vital role in supporting young people experiencing mental health, wellbeing and psychosocial challenges. Working across community and outreach settings, you'll walk alongside young people and their families, helping them strengthen wellbeing, build independence, reconnect with their communities and work towards their personal recovery goals.
Your role, your impact
As a Youth & Family Worker, you'll provide outreach and recovery-focused support to young people with complex mental health needs, helping them navigate challenges, strengthen their support networks and achieve goals that are meaningful to them.
You will:
- Build strong, trusting relationships with young people and families through outreach, telehealth and community-based supports
- Deliver individual recovery coordination and psychosocial support tailored to each young person's strengths, needs and aspirations
- Work collaboratively with young people, families, carers and care teams to develop and achieve individual recovery goals
- Lead and facilitate evidence-informed group programs that promote wellbeing, connection and personal growth
- Coordinate care with housing, health, education and community services to support positive outcomes for young people
- Support transitions into and out of residential recovery programs, helping young people maintain continuity of care
- Respond calmly and effectively during challenging situations, ensuring young people feel safe, supported and heard
- Maintain accurate records, case notes and reporting requirements to support quality service delivery and positive outcomes
About you
You’re someone who is passionate about supporting young people and families and thrives in a collaborative, community-based environment.
You bring:
- Experience working therapeutically with young people and families
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and lived experiences
- Well-developed case management, organisational and time management skills
- Understanding of youth mental health, trauma, homelessness, family conflict and early school departure
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented practice and youth development principles
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary care teams
- Confidence managing competing priorities and responding effectively in complex situations
- Understanding of community, health and government service systems
Mandatory qualifications and licences:
- Bachelor qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Youth Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or Community Services
- Applicants holding a Diploma-level qualification in one of the above disciplines may also be considered where they can demonstrate substantial experience supporting young people with mental health, wellbeing or psychosocial challenges
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Current Driver's Licence with legal authority to drive in Victoria using your own roadworthy vehicle
What will make you stand out?

- Experience working within youth mental health, psychosocial support or recovery programs
- Experience facilitating therapeutic or psychoeducational groups
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and family-inclusive practice
- Experience working within outreach or community-based programs
