About the Role


Manufacturing Technician

Location: Greenwood, South Carolina, United States (On-site)

Job Scope:

A Technician works in a high performing team that is responsible for keeping production flowing, delivering targeted performance goals, and for maintaining the high level of quality that Customers expect from our products. Under general supervision, operates, monitors, maintains, and recommend improvements. Operate equipment in accordance with standards by specifications and operating instructions. Adjusts equipment for best performance and continuously improve standards. This position reports to the shift Supervisor and the work schedule are a fixed day or night shift of 12 hours 4-3 system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effective shift exchange or pass down with performance data and troubleshooting information.
  • Strictly adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety standards and regulations without posing a threat to the safety of others
  • Ensures production data is recorded and accurate. 
  • Perform autonomous maintenance tasks based on training and qualifications.
  • Perform changeovers, tool set-ups, and machine adjustments to define center lines.
  • Perform project and process improvement tasks to qualify materials and products on equipment. 
  • Identify and correct line abnormalities, ensure to communicate to the Supervisor and team members. 
  • Escalate problem(s) encountered to the Manufacturing supervisor and Manufacturing Team Lead
  • Work together and assist engineers (process, equipment, maintenance, Industrial) during evaluations, problem solving, experiments, and improvements. 
  • Improve and maintain a clean work environment by following 5S housekeeping and production area cleaning standards.
  • Improve personal capability by learning and performing improved levels of equipment improvement by developing improved standards of operation.
  • Orientation duties of new team members as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be able to operate and maintain automated equipment, computer systems and/or product distribution systems. 
  • Ability to motivate and enable self and others to achieve goals by leveraging strengths and removing barriers to success. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate to multiple groups (peers, managers, etc.)
  • Demonstrate motivation and be a self-starter. 
  • Must be able to comprehend and document data.  
  • Must possess the analytical ability to understand safety hazards and trainable duties as put forth in safety / training programs.
  • Can fix and troubleshoot routine and non-routine problems.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by team leadership or Supervisor. Able to read, speak, and understand English. 
  • Knowledge and ability to work on a computer or similar device
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Education and Experience:

  • Ideally a high school diploma or similar
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing operation 

Working conditions:

  • Must be able to stand and walk up to 90% of the shift.
  • Wear the required PPE all times while in the manufacturing area.  Other personal protective equipment is required as departmental policies or job tasks dictate.
  • Must be able to lift and position objects weighing up to 50 lbs., up to 10% of the work time.
