Job Description

Your opportunity

As a Network Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, configuring and maintaining Cuscal’s network infrastructure and related application components. Working across complex network environments, you’ll help improve performance, resolve operational issues and provide recommendations that strengthen the reliability and security of our network services. 

You’ll also make an impact by:

  • Designing, configuring and maintaining complex LAN, WAN and wireless network environments
  • Configuring and supporting Cisco firewalls, VPN concentrators and security appliances
  • Supporting routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and network virtualisation technologies
  • Supporting F5 load balancers and F5 Distributed Cloud services
  • Troubleshooting network hardware, software, telecommunications and security systems
  • Maintaining accurate network documentation that reflects the current environment
  • Supporting multi-site network operations across private and public infrastructure
  • Managing assigned projects and delivering services in line with established objectives
  • Maintaining service levels across ticketing and change management systems
  • Contributing to the 24/7 network on-call roster

Qualifications

What you'll bring

You’re an experienced Network Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and working collaboratively to deliver reliable and secure services. You can move comfortably between proactive network design, operational support and hands-on troubleshooting.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience working with networking technologies
  • Strong experience across routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and data links
  • Hands-on experience installing, upgrading and configuring Cisco network and security devices (ASA, FTD)
  • Experience with F5 load balancers and F5 Distributed Cloud
  • Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN and wireless network environments
  • A solid understanding of IP, Ethernet, ARP, Spanning Tree, VLANs, DNS, forwarding tables and routing protocols
  • Experience configuring, supporting and troubleshooting VPN technologies
  • Knowledge of network monitoring, management and diagnostic platforms
  • Knowledge of networking within Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
