Responsibilities
The TeamViewer Digital Employee Experience (DEX) platform finds and resolves IT issues before they affect users. Following the acquisition of 1E, we are bringing our core remote connectivity platform and the DEX platform together into one unified product experience. Our team builds the platform services that connect both worlds — covering authentication & authorization federation, user synchronization, and secure service-to-service communication between the platforms.
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong Java (Spring) and Kotlin expertise to play a key role in designing and building these platform integration services, trusted by large enterprise customers. In this role, you’ll work primarily on our core platform, owning and improving the Java-based services that connect it to the DEX platform.
As part of an Agile team, you’ll contribute as an individual contributor, working primarily with Java (Spring) and Kotlin. Your work will power containerized services running on Kubernetes. As the DEX platform is built on .NET, familiarity with C# services is a welcome plus. You will be joining a young, motivated team and will play an active role in mentoring and guiding its members in best practices in software development & Secure SDLC.
Develop & enhance platform services that connect our core remote connectivity platform and the DEX platform, in the areas of authentication & authorization federation, user synchronization, and cross-platform service-to-service communication
Define the architecture, design and develop new features for our platform services in Java (Spring) and Kotlin
Work with identity and access concepts such as token exchange, service principals, user-context authentication, and auditing across platform boundaries
Continuously integrate, build and deploy our solution from test system to production
Design and implement secure, well-documented APIs based on architecture guidelines and frameworks
Design and build common database systems of high availability and quality
Optimize and enhance our software with new, efficient algorithms and state-of-the-art software tools and technologies
Work independently on solutions for specified requirements and be responsible for complying with time and quality specifications
Ensure that our software is secure, stable, scalable and runs efficiently
Monitor the latest technical developments in your field and make proposals for improvement
Guide and assist other team members in engineering topics relevant for the team
Coach & mentor junior members of a young and growing team, fostering a culture of quality, ownership and continuous learning
Act as an advisor for product owners (feasibility studies and time estimates for new functionality to be implemented)
Collaborate closely with the teams owning the DEX platform to align on interfaces, contracts and integration flows
Requirements
A university degree in the field of information technology, computer science and engineering or a related subject
7+ years of professional experience in the field of software development
Solid knowledge of Java (Spring), Kotlin and SQL is mandatory
Solid understanding of authentication & authorization concepts (e.g. OAuth2/OIDC, token exchange, service-to-service and user-context authentication)
Hands on experience with cloud services (like managed Kubernetes, Redis, key vaults, message brokers, PostgreSQL etc), docker containers and CI/CD pipelines
Must have hands on experience in Docker & Kubernetes ecosystem and should be able to work on them locally in docker desktop.
Must have experience in any of the unit test casing framework
Experience in taking architectural decisions about the development and maintenance of large-scale distributed systems and integrations between platforms and services
Solid knowledge of Secure SDLC principles, OWASP Top-10 vulnerabilities & remediation, and Threat Modeling
Experience in quick feasibility studies, POC & prototyping to arrive at firm estimates
Understanding of Clean Code and Design Patterns for object-orientated programming
Proven ability and willingness to mentor and coach junior engineers, paired with strong communication skills
A positive and solution-oriented mindset paired with a structured and analytical way of thinking/working, being a team player, as well as motivated to learn new things
Knowledge of .NET (C#) backend services is a plus (the DEX platform is built on .NET)
Experience in any of the following is desirable: parallel programming (multi-threading), test automation, network communications, digital certificates/PKI
Familiarity with AI tools for coding (like Co-pilot) is a plus
