About The Company
This is the legacy page for Western Shield Label Company. We have rebranded as Imprimus Labels and Packaging! You may have known us as Western Shield, or All-American Label and Packaging, or Lotus Labels, or DAC Labels, or Label Print Technologies (LPT), or The Label Smith. We are all now Imprimus. Our focus will still be what it’s always been: High Quality Labels. Without The Hassle. For both our customers and our team, that has always meant consistency. Deep materials and label expertise. Best-in-class service. And an experience that’s easy, convenient, and built around the customer’s needs. All of that will continue. That’s only possible when you bring together so many companies with similar philosophies and cultures. For those of you who have been long time loyalists to any of our individual companies, you will no doubt recognize the values you appreciated for so long and how we take them to new levels. Because the only thing that changes – besides our name – is that now we have more resources. More depth and breadth. More reach. Now we have manufacturing facilities in regions throughout the country. Allowing us to provide the service of a local partner, for anyone, anywhere. And as one company, with one name, it’s easier for us to connect with each other – and with our customers – across all our locations. So we can quickly and efficiently create labels that are not only accurate and efficient but also look great and are built to last. Our commitment to remaining true to our values and our quality is reflected in the new Imprimus name – a name selected because it relates to both “imprint” and “imprimatur,” meaning “a person’s acceptance or guarantee that something is of a good standard.” That’s what all of us were about as individual companies. And our promise to you is that it’s what the new Imprimus will always be about.
About the Role

Description

Imprimus Labels & Packaging is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Digital Production Scheduler to join our Dublin, California operation.

This position plays a critical role in coordinating and scheduling digital label production to ensure customer orders are completed efficiently, accurately, and on time. The ideal candidate understands the fast-paced nature of the label printing industry and is comfortable balancing customer priorities, press capacity, materials, production requirements, and changing deadlines.

If you enjoy solving scheduling challenges, working closely with production teams, and keeping jobs moving through a busy manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for digital label printing operations.
  • Schedule jobs based on customer due dates, press capacity, material availability, staffing, job requirements, and production priorities.
  • Coordinate closely with Customer Service, Prepress/Graphics, Production, Quality, Shipping, and other departments to ensure jobs move efficiently through the manufacturing process.
  • Review incoming jobs for production readiness and identify potential scheduling or material issues before they affect delivery.
  • Prioritize rush orders and respond to changing customer requirements while minimizing disruption to the overall production schedule.
  • Monitor jobs throughout the production process and adjust schedules as necessary to maintain customer commitments.
  • Evaluate press capacity, run times, setup requirements, changeovers, and other production constraints when establishing schedules.
  • Communicate schedule changes, potential delays, and production priorities clearly to appropriate team members.
  • Maintain accurate job status and scheduling information within the company's ERP and production systems.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and provide updates regarding priorities, capacity, bottlenecks, and delivery risks.
  • Work with production leadership to identify opportunities to improve workflow, throughput, equipment utilization, and on-time delivery.
  • Assist with production reporting and analysis as needed.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in production scheduling, production planning, or manufacturing coordination strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the label printing, commercial printing, flexible packaging, or related printing industry highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of digital printing and converting operations is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of pressure-sensitive label manufacturing processes, including printing, finishing, inspection, rewinding, and shipping, is a plus.
  • Experience working with ERP, MIS, or production scheduling systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production employees, supervisors, customer service, and management.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting customer delivery requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can see the entire production picture—not simply enter jobs onto a schedule. The successful candidate will understand how scheduling decisions affect press utilization, labor, materials, finishing operations, customer commitments, and overall plant performance.

Experience working in a pressure-sensitive label manufacturing environment will be especially valuable.
